the junior minister for agriculture mr t hayes was due to meet with a deputation from the Irish Greyhound Owners and Breeders Fedaretion tomorrow morning at 10 o'c.

all was arranged with people organising train tickets and taking time off work etc.

at approximately 11 o'c this morning a dermot ryan rang the federation secretary to say that the meeting was cancelled.

this is the second occasion the elusive minister cancelled.

peter,

the federation originally asked for the indecon report before the meeting.

paul McNally emailed the secretary of the federation approximately 10 days ago to say that the minister would not have the report but as there were other items of importance on the agenda every one understood that the meeting would go ahead as organised.

in this mornings phone call dermot ryan said that the meeting was being called of because "the minister had not got the indecon report"

this minister seems to forget that he has been elected as a servant of the people.

why does he act as if he is the master of the people?

the excuse he gave for cancelling tomorrows meeting is poor.

is he afraid and now after promising to meet with the federation has he shown the white feather?

Rumour has it that the Minister has instructed the IGB to meet with the IGOBF, the agenda of the meeting set by IGOBF will be Regulations, Finances and A.O.B. which should cover all the challenges facing the industry.
