In response to our members suggestions Greyhound-Data has produced this updated guide to clarify acceptable breeding COMMENT and ADVERTISEMENT of Sires on the Forum.

Members are requested to please take note of the clear distinction between ADVERTISING and what can be considered as fair COMMENT within an information Forum designed to benefit the knowledge of members.

Please note the necessary disclosures now required to be included in some posts.

ALL FORUM MEMBERS (NON-DIAMOND STATUS MEMBERS)

Greyhound-Data sincerely appreciates the contributions of all its members who provide their considered advice/COMMENT on suitable Sires and as such provide the following complimentary benefits.

1. All Forum members can create a Sire-page on Greyhound-Data.

2. They can create a dedicated Forum topic of their own to discuss breeding lines for broods suited to their Sire. A link to the Sire-Page must be put in the Sires topic in the Forum. Sire-page contents ie; contact details, fees, conditions, are NOT permitted on the Forum discussion topic.

3. Greyhound-Data links to the Sire-page or test-matings are acceptable. External links are NOT permitted on the Forum discussion topic.

4. They can post their congratulations on their own topic if one of their Sires progeny wins (other ADVERTISING/PROMOTIONAL wording is not permitted). Similarly, they may offer fair COMMENT on other directly related breeding matters.

5. They can recommend their Sire to a brood bitch owner in ANY thread as COMMENT not ADVERTISING if the owner asks for breeding advice, providing their interest is disclosed eg "I am the Studmaster for", "One of my Sires" or similar, and that a plausible rationale/explanation is given as to why you consider your Sire to be a good match.

All Forum members can make fair COMMENT, as appropriate, on their own greyhounds and activities, providing this is not excessive in description, frequency, overtly promotional or misleading.

Fair COMMENT does not extend to the posting within threads of: advertising or promotional descriptions, contact numbers, stud fees, etc outside of what could be considered to be directly answering a query, or to be of a purely informative nature. Greyhound-Data reserves the right, in its sole discretion to remove posts that it considers to be outside the bounds of fair comment in the best interests of all members.

DIAMOND STATUS MEMBERS

Diamond members pay for the privilege of ADVERTISING within the Forum and Greyhound-Data greatly appreciates this support, which contributes to improving and maintaining the site for the benefit of all members.

If you would like to become a Gold Star Member with Diamond status to permit you to ADVERTISE, please email [email protected]
These members will have full Forum ADVERTISING rights;

1. They can create a dedicated Forum topic of their own to ADVERTISE their Sire on the Forum. Any advertising must be kept within this thread.

2. They can post the following under their Forum topic: contact details, external links to their business website, photographs, videos, race replays, winners by their sire, whelpings, pups for sale, etc.

3. Like all members, they can recommend their Sire to a brood bitch owner in ANY thread as COMMENT not ADVERTISING if the owner asks for breeding advice, providing their interest is disclosed eg "I am the Studmaster for", "One of my Sires" or similar, and that a plausible rationale/explanation is given as to why you consider your Sire to be a good match.

PLEASE NOTE restrictions on the following topics;

1. I BRED THIS WINNER This is for the owner of the brood bitch to comment.

2. TELL US ABOUT YOUR WINNERS -This is for the owner/trainer of the dog/bitch that has won.

TROLLING ON SIRES TOPICS

Trolling is understood to take place when an Internet user intentionally angers, frustrates, provokes or unfairly targets someone. We would ask all our members to report any such behaviour that occurs on their Sire topics (or any Forum topic). Moderators will be reviewing topics on a regular basis to ensure that Trolling is not active.

We rely on everyones support to make the Forum a place where our members can communicate safely and constructively.

All members will be notified via this topic of any changes.

18th June 2014.
