Word is that one of the most brilliant greyhounds of his era has passed away. Farloe Black, an imported son of American export Hondo Black and Farloe Signal, was brought to the USA after his racing career in IRE and UK, to assume stud duties. He reportedly passed peacefully in his sleep, and was never ill a day in his life.

That's very sad news.
Some years ago I contacted the American owners of this dog in the hope they would sell him to me, Kristin Blockhound I think I spoke with, via email. From discussions he wasn't leaving there for less than a kings ransom! Upon looking him up just now, I'm surprised he didn't serve more bitches.

Unfortunately Glenn, he arrived here just as tracks were closing and breedings were contracting by nearly half each year. Most breeders were not much inclined to use unproven sires, and even less inclined to use unproven, import sires. He was a victim of circumstances.

Sad he didn't get more bitches. Love his breeding.

Omg the death of two great dogs. Farloe Black was special big regret not keeping him here for breeding.
