It is having a seriously negative impact on the GD site because all recent form is not available.
It is taking a long time to fix the problem.
Will someone please confirm that any progress is bring made?

Hi Clare, I have just returned from visiting Gunnar and discussing the issues with him. The IGB is my next port of call next week. I am doing all I can to resolve the problems and hopefully we are nearly there.

Kevin, the other thread wasn't deleted simply unpinned from the top.

That's great news Tony, when your coming over to meet the lads from the IGB is there any chance you could bring about 30m with you and lend/give it to them just to pull them out of a wee bit of a hole?

I had this message from the IGB (yesterday) via FaceBook, when I asked what the progress to this matter was

"Hi Karen, Just checked with our IT team and they had sent the link to Greyhound Data approx. 4 weeks ago - we are not aware of what the delay is in setting the access - hope this helps."

Have a feeling the IGB aren't that interested in fixing the problem :-(

Karin I think you've hit the nail on the head there, I'm under the same opinion, people can come on here and insult the IGB to the highest level, calling them "carpet pushers" and "muppets" just a few to mention but the posts never get removed as insulting but on the other hand anyone defending the IGB can have posts removed for calling someone "childish" doesn't seem like equal rights, so would you help someone who mostly is dragging you down constantly? I sure wouldn't

How are you meant to sell a dog on this site, when it shows its last race about 3months ago, dnf, or last beaten 12 lengths. when in fact its last race was a week ago and should read 1st by 12 lengths. A complete waste of space. Would you expect anyone to buy a dog that was showing, not ran in 3 months?

Unfortunately the site in it's present state is effectively defunct.

Indeed Denis and the vital missing piece of the GD jigsaw is in the hands of the IGB!

Question is - why is it not happening ?

Is it because they dont have the IT capability to make it happen -

Or

Because they dont want to give this to G.Data.

Im not convinced its not the first.

The reply Karin got was a fob off from a pr/customer care (?) type.
A typical 'thank you for your call , we,ll pass the buck ...."

The response wasnt correct ....link ?
...wrong explanation.
At least "your IP address is showing up as Bulgaria so you cant access the system " showed some artistic licence.

Data is a great site and should be a showcase for the Irish greyhound industry.

It was before the lunatics took over the asylum on the Irish side.

The New IGB site has been very disappointing from the launch.
It doesn't even compare well with the old site. I'm not surprised it is not linked up with the Data. A lot of the old functions still don't work properly.
Who ever accepted or signed off on it doesn't use it.

IGB have failed to promote any aspect of the industry.

To many Indians and no Chief.
Time for radical change in order to get the ball rolling again.

I can't see how this is on IGB IT to fix. It is easy to, but not factually correct to blame them. They are slaughtered on a daily basis on here, so I cant see why they would bend over backwards to assist the site...

I would have presumed it is upto DATA to change the script that they used previously. IGB.ie is still just a website, but the URL structure, and presentation format is different. The content DATA require is published in the web, just not in exactly the same format as previously.

(Something as crude as a $wget script would get all teh content, but there would be some work and effort in parsing and reformatting the output for upload.)

But since the IGB site launched, when you upload a race manually, the current script can still go an find the race video from IGB.ie, so with some changes it should be able to find the race results...

For those looking to sell dogs, there is nothing to stop you manually adding the races here, it takes a few miutes.

Just my two cents. I like the new site, as it is a lot better on mobile devices (with the one exception of 'Greyhound Search' results on portrait on an iPhone).

Sorry to buck the trend of negativity aimed at the igb as I'm with you on this Brian - I also like the IGB site. Since I moved my dog to race in Eire from the UK I have been very impressed with the email and mobile notifications, the race results and videos, not to mention the Barking Buzz app. Anyone who disagrees should race a dog in the UK and rely on the GBGB and their website. You will very quickly notice a significant service and quality difference. Credit where credit is due in my book!

Any update yet Tony - as mentioned I assume people could manually update their own dogs form but this is now starting to impact on the overall figures that breeders might want to access when choosing a sire. I would think it in the interests of both IGB & GD to resolve this asap.
