Hi all,
I am writing in regards to the fundraising monies that I raised over 2 years ago now.

I was planning on giving the funds to the QBGOTA to be held in safekeeping.
However I was then approached by some Innisfail trainers who said they wanted to go ahead and do the track after initially not wanting to do it.
So I didn't send them on to the QBGOTA but I had withdrawn them from my account as I was intending on getting a bank cheque to send.

Then nobody went ahead !

I was ill during this time then I lost my dad , then moved to Townsville blah blah blah .

So for the past 2 years I have held $ 3,105.00 in my brothers safe.
Yes I realise not drawing interest !! (to those who want to have a go at me !)

In any case - I have to ask who wants to tell me what / where this money should go please !

thank you

Robynne Black

Hi Robynne,

Sorry to hear about your dad and the rough times you have been going through.

As Richard stated GAP would be the way to go and I cannot imagine anyone who helped with donations etc. would be upset with this decision.

Good luck with all in the future Robynne,

Tony

Thank you for your response Richard and Tony.

I will give it 48 hours - if anyone has ANY problems with this money going to GAP - you have time to tell me that you are not happy with it.

If no-one contests this I will give the money to Qld and NSW ?

From memory the majority of studs that donated were from NSW.

Tony I would appreciate it if you could pin this topic until Monday ?

If not I'll bump it over the weekend.

Once again I'd like to thank Tor for all of his help, and of course the studmasters and owners which I will list after the money has found a new home.

thank you,

Robynne

There is a Greyhound re-homing charity expecting to start in the Townsville area next year. They are based in Brisbane but want to expand their area to help more dogs in that area.
Greyhound New Beginnings - EXTERNAL LINK
They have re-homed a few dogs for me & many others from the Bundaberg area that I know of & would highly recommend them.

Thanks for the suggestion Brian, but there are a lot of upcoming greyhound rehoming groups and I am not going to go through each of them.

After thinking further if no-one has any better suggestions the money will go to GAP Townsville Branch - it was raised in FNQ so maybe should stay in FNQ.

Or I can take it to the Casino and try to double it LOL

Hi Robynne,

GAP is a great idea. The money was raised for FNQ so just donate it up there.

I dunno, I'm sort of leaning towards the Casino idea.

Ok so who is the hot tip :-)

When I put money on dogs they pull up or fight , I could stop a freight train - so even the owner of the hottest tip would end up hating this idea lol

I think GAP could use the money Robynne, its a real pity this never went ahead as there was a lot of interest in it at the start and a lot of people did support the idea, but that's life isn't it.

Least it will go to help those that make the industry, the dogs!

Merry Christmas

Tor

I really appreciated your help with it all Tor , I could not have done it without you.

I spoke to Gail Whiteside-Lane and told her the FNQ Greys were going to get the money - she was ecstatic :-)

I just need to write to QR and express that I would like it to be used for the Townsville dogs.

I'm going in tomorrow to get the postal order for it, so I'm not tempted to get on with any of these hot tips !! LOL

Merry Christmas to you and your family Tor

kind regards,

Robynne
