And where are the Associations that are supposed to be the voice of participants? Missing in action, that's where.
Does anybody listen to them anyway? Do they have any power?

Chris this is the problem as I see it as well but we can fix this .

The GOTBA in every State has suffered very low numbers of members for one reason and one reason only ...

They suffer from the same people doing the hard yards year after year and this is why it is so important to now SIGN UP and USE YOUR VOICE and then VOTE FOR CHANGE AND DIRECTION from the Grass roots up .

We need a strong and forceful committees and people who are not afraid of upsetting the people at the top .
We need a wide variety of people ON EVERY COMMITTEE to represent us the OWNERS AND TRAINERS.

We need people from the Back Yard breeder to the big time professional Trainers and Owners .

We need people with PASSION FOR OUR BELOVED GREYHOUNDS .

We cannot sit back and continue to follow our beloved leaders because as we are seeing now they really don't give a rats butt crack about us it's members and we have a INDUSTRY that is being driven by PEOPLE WHO DON'T CARE ABOUT IT'S MEMBERS .

We have a Industry DRIVEN BY PEOPLE WHO GET PAID TO DO A JOB and those same people go home at night waiting for the next pay check to come in next week .

We need people to stand up and say ENOUGH WITH THE ROT THROW OUT THE ROTTEN APPLES and it will only happen when we as Owners and Trainers unite AND THE ONLY RECOGNISED BODY to do this is the GOTBA ...

No....and, no.

The various State boards have consistently shown that they will run the industry and make decisions as they see fit. No amount of opposition, no representations from industry groups have ever influenced those decisions.
They know what is good for us and we should just like it or lump it!

I believe about 100 people attended the Meadows the other night for a "consultation" session with GRV.

Anyone care to list what issues were raised so we can see whether GRV actually listen to the concerns of the industry and act on them?

I'm happy to offer odds that we are ignored....again.

Kevin and Mark,

I agree. This is a multi million dollar industry. If the governing bodies refuse to come to the table and listen to the concerns of the participants elected representatives then what hope is there?
I thought we lived in Australia not communist China or Russia.

Neither the QGBOTA or the UQGA in Qld are worth being members of,for almost 3 months since Slip through the cracks and the Buck stops at the top (and a couple of dozen desperate greyhound trainers)with their distorted press coverage have destroyed the image of greyhound racing, these stakeholder representative committees have done absolutely nothing about the FOL or calling for the dissolution of Racing Qld,to improve greyhound stakeholders livelyhoods,in fact quite the opposite overseen appearance money almost disappear and prize money dwindle without an industry meeting is pathetic.

GRNSW say audible devices are ok. Does anyone know if there is a device that you can record sounds onto and would be activate when it was shaken? Something that could be put in a toy and play the sound when a dog shook it.

Lol

So I've now got to say:

"The runners are all locked away; the green light is switched on & the power is through to the boxes; the Artificial Reward Mechanism rolls and we're all set for a jump..." ;-)

I might throw this one in for the next race at Albion Park ;-)

Richard & the guys in the Sky studio enjoyed that one anyway! ;-) :-)

Ironically (or not?), I reckon a runner or 2 in that race may figure prominently in the Steward's Report too. Hmmmmm ....

Why the hell would you even consider entertaining that name PETA, let alone give it free-air-play, is beyond me.

Anthony you could be soon calling - " The vegan raised little puppies have been put in their play pens and the solar powered green light is on - the non-organic totally synthetic toy is on it's way and the puppies will soon be let out to play - there they go running and playing in the sand and don't forget what nice pets they make ladies and gentleman." It is becoming that ridiculous.

2.
absolute, imperious, or overbearing power or control.
3.

I might have to get them to give the "Artificial reward mechanism" a much longer run up to fit all those words in ;-)
