Mark, I was at the meeeting on Monday night and it was basically a forum chaired by the new GRV Chairman to hear from industry participants.

The major issues canvassed/brought up were:
- creation of a "dog friendly" locality in the Avalon/Lara area as many participants were having trouble with the local council re number of dogs on premises
- the over-zealousness of GRV Compliance staff in the way they are attempting to enforce rules regarding kennel sizes; wire etc
-lack of any pro-activeness from GRV in getting on the front foot to counter much of the misinformation being propogated in the media
-problems and GRV action against "smaller" trainers as against the top ten
-confusion between the "rules"/code of practice of GRV versus Dept Of Primary Industry particularly with regard to kennel sizes
- track design - no consultation with stakeholders in track design with the new Traralgon track an example
-the use of farmed skins and carcasses in training

To be fair, the three new board members have little knowledge of he industry and admitted to that but do have a record in management. It was one of four they plan to hold in Victoria so will be interesting to see what happens going forward.

It was mentioned on the night that it was noticeable and disappointing that none of the major trainers were in attendance
