No offence taken. I am too close to the hear after to worry about playing Chairperson.

Like a lot of your ideas. Really do. Thinking they have Merit.

The more people in the club , The more money, The more dogs can be obtained & thus better chance of WINNING a grade 5 at broken hill.. LOL...

The club needs to knock off a MAJOR quick. So needs All the input Phillip.

All i ever TRY to suggest is ideas.

Here is ANOTHER Idea : ASK a Breeder to ( donate a puppy ) to the club.

Should the puppy be a Champ , The Breeder gets 20 free straws if a male. If a Female, The first litter.

Club then gets the female back to breed on with.

Thus the breeder wins long term. In the short term the CLUB wins by having Well Bred pups with NO up front Costs.

That would interest Breeders to advertise their litter...

So thank you Phillip for your ideas.

Elsie

Thanks everyone for your input so far and we will leave the thread up for a few more days for people to register their interest.

Based on the final response we will put forward how we feel would be the best way to establish the Club on an International basis. We will keep everything 100% transparent and as simple as possible.
Regards,

Count me in very interested, but please ignore the likes of Elsie Bayliss keep things simple.

The idea to be involved in an International Racing Club is very attractive and I would love to be part of a dog that may race in the English Derby or the Irish Derby or become Captain All American.

It would be a privilege to be a part of, or own such a dog or bitch but to be part of a syndicate in Australia only, no thanks as I breed and race my own and I am quite successful in doing this, you only have to read "I bred this Winner".

A rule of International Racing should be made easy from the start, can you imagine 200 or 300 members trying to make up their minds as to what breed to buy? This would be a nightmare alone, so here are a couple of suggestions for the International Club to commence with.

1. Only 5 members be allocated the task of purchasing the dogs, no one else is involved and the same 5 would organize the Trainers, also a Welfare Officer.

2. All the profit stays in the bank until Christmas time when 50% is divided to the members/shareholders and 50% stays in the kitty for more purchasers and welfare etc. etc.

This is only if there is profit otherwise all Member/Shareholders would have to contribute a certain amount of funds to keep the books in the black.

3. All dogs should race worldwide under a prefix name to establish our own brand eg: Data

We are making a simple idea far too difficult for anybody to get involved, if legally a company needs to be formed then lets form a company as it is only one cost.

The company should be run by the 5 people, the chairman, a welfare officer/communicator and a Treasurer as it is practically impossible to get more than 5 people agreeing on one subject as you can tell from the comments above.

Can you really imagine Elsie as a chairperson, sorry Elsie I'm not having a dig at you but we all have different opinions, I want to get involved and enjoy it, do you?

So if an individual club is to be done in every Country, please count me out.

" All the profit stays in the bank until Christmas time when 50% is divided to the members/shareholders and 50% stays in the kitty for more purchasers and welfare etc. etc."

Can an amount be found to go to childrens hospitals in each country...???

I'm interested in how participants could watch the actual races, from all over.
Perhaps a special part of the website to advise when the races are actually on, and a replay available?
Or where to log on to the live action? (without cost!)
also, a bit which advised who's running where & when?
No point, imo, of just seeing a set of results

As far as Irish racing goes Ron there won't be any problem watching re-runs of races also there shouldn't be any problem advising a couple of days in advance when dogs are due to run

Greyhound-Data Racing Club

The club will be open to membership to all members of CLICK HERE This will be a non-profit making venture and is not a investment product. Members will not get any money returned to them. Membership of the Club is not an entitlement to ownership of any Greyhounds owned by the club. It has been decided that all profits will be used to replenish stock within the club and a percentage of any profits will be given to a greyhound welfare charity. Every year a vote will take place to decide how much is given to charity and which charities will receive the gift.

A non-refundable annual membership fee will be charged to the member and this will gain the individual exclusive access to the racing club members forum area of greyhound-data. This will be an exclusive forum where members can discuss and keep up-to-date on all aspects of the club. Racing-Club members will gain a badge of recognition against their name on Greyhound-Data.com to indicate their level of membership. Membership will last for a period one year from the date of purchase of the first Greyhound. Membership will need to be renewed annually. Membership is not transferable.

There will be 2 levels of membership:

Gold Membership @ Aus $ 435 or 300 or 225 or US$ 345
Membership @ Aus $ 290 or 200 or 150 or US$ 230

Regardless of the level of membership each member has, a member is entitled to 1 vote respectively, when a vote is required. Voting is only required once a year to decide how any profit is used (If any exists).

We want the racing club to be open to everyones budget. So for a little less than 1 Aus $ a day or just over 50 cent a day you could elevate your hobby to new heights. It is apparent that people have different budgets and some would like to offer more than others. Those choosing the Gold Racing Club Memberships are in essence helping the club to buy a better quality of Dog, which hopefully will mean more money going to a Greyhound Welfare Charity in the long run. So for those who can afford it we ask you to please support the club in this manner and buy Gold Membership for the Racing Club.

Greyhound-data will use the membership money to purchase greyhounds and train them and uphold their welfare (to include vet costs) and re-home them on finishing their racing careers, in the name of Greyhound-Data Racing Club.

As monies will not be distributed back to members, but either kept in the club or going to charity, it means that anyone can join the club at any stage! Also, members can upgrade the membership status as finances permit. So there is a chance that this could grow into an amazing club!

Greyhound-Data Racing Club will be administered by 3 members of the current Greyhound-Data Team and 2 members of Greyhound-Data Racing Club Team (Board of 5 in Total) on behalf of all members, where a majority vote will decide all matters, in relation to the running of the club from purchase through to re-homing.

The club will be run with 100% transparency and will be about the enjoyment of racing Internationally.

The club will endeavor to host some kind of "Once a year annual get together" funded by the clubs finances (example: a reserved spot at a race club with food platters etc but No drinks! - on a night when the Melbourne Cup or Irish/English Derby is on. This would be to say thanks to those members for supporting the idea and It would be a night where those that can make it, can bond & have an excuse to get out & say hello and have FUN! Maybe even cheer home a Club winner!

If at any stage the club no longer has enough money to purchase a dog to include the cost of re-homing and training the dog, it is declared that the club will wind up operations and donate all remaining funds to a Greyhound Welfare charity as per previous voting method outlined above.

Greyhound-Data feels like this is the best model for our members and would hope that people take it for what it is and understand it is all about enjoying International Racing, having fun along the way and hopefully raising money for Greyhound Welfare Charities also!

Based on peoples feedback we will either run with this idea or not at all. We look forward to hearing all your comments.
