I recently bought a well bred pup (Collision x Dusty Moonshine)and promised my 4 year old granddaughter that she could name it for me when the time came. The pup was only placed with my trainer 2 weeks ago. He confirmed that he liked the pup's character and was impressed with the two trials he had given him since he arrived at his kennels.

Now the bad news......

I received a phone call yesterday advising that
"Matt" had been found deceased in his kennels.
After a vet's examination he had died from a twisted bowel.
Amazing how dogs can race for 2-3 years and have over 100 starts but then can disappear overnight with an ailment like this.
Very sad.

Now to tell the granddaughter :-(

It is going to be a tough one Tony ...

I would get a dog with the same colours and continue on she is only 4 ..

Twisted Bowls can strike at any time without any warning signs and it is very sad times when this happens ...

Thats racing Mate ...
The hard thing is you invest your time your money rearing breaking in and pre training you try your best to get your dog ready to race and this happens and its a bitter pill you swallow.....

Sorry to read that Tony, racing can be a very hard game sometimes, Ive lost a pup to that too, just happens out of the blue, no rhyme or reason.

Hopefully the bad luck is out of the way and some good luck will come your way.

Sorry to hear that Tony.

Kevin I don't think it's as easy as buying a goldfish but worth a shot, some 4yr olds are pretty switched on.

Thanks for the comments fellas.

I don't think it will be that easy to find a blue brindle dog
nearly ready to race seeing that 90% bred nowadays are black.....

It's a cruel game we are in.

Very hard to explain to a 4yr old maybe the next pup she can name and hopefully go and win plenty of races for you guys.
