No doubt its a classic, its always been a classic since 1944. First one I saw was 79 when Denis Lynch's Knockrour Slave won his first. Its our classic always has been and with luck will continue so.

Brian,,the big Q. is how long will these great stakes retain their Classic status if they are won by a dog testing positive??

That my friend is the big Q. Any race is devalued if the winner tests positive for illegal substances. The one positive to come out of this is numerous breeders will now not be hoodwinked in to paying stud fees for juiced up stud dogs.

Irish breeders have been using juiced up dogs for years ,but not many as good as this fella .if you don't use him that's your choice but it's yet to be proven he was juiced up .and if he hasn't proven it already he has won more than one classic and an nos race ! All with nothing in his system .grahams dogs having already thrown many classic winners from limited opportunities in sonic also so if you don't use his dogs I'd say you were very very foolish !
I'd have more faith in grahams dogs being clean than any Irish trainer to be honest

Your right Shaun, Irish breeders have been using juiced up stud dogs for decades. Many of them multiple classic winners to boot. The elephant in the room here Shaun are the multiple positives for prohibited substances produced by dogs in his care. I am sure the Irish trainers will be really endeared by your affection for them also. As I have said before if Graham is exonerated by due process he deserves a public apology. However the question here is how consecutive tests produced findings of illegal A class drugs in the dogs system on three separate occasions during the running of a classic. The very expensive machine has proven according to its parameters that this greyhound had illegal substances in his system, that is published fact. Being responsible for dogs in your care means just that taking responsibility. I presume he will take responsibility and given whats at stake, I hope he will be given every opportunity to explain how the substances got in to the dogs system.

As for me being very very foolish you are 100% correct. Hands up to that, foolish enough to believe in a level playing pitch for all and foolish enough to believe in an industry where integrity and fair play for all participants has to be the overriding principle.

Clonbrien is without doubt a fast dog. I can't say weather he guilty or not but it's an awful shame there is any doubt hanging over him.

i recently had a guy test positive for cocaine on site ,he,s 63 years old and has worked for me for 30+ years and apart from a joint in the late 70,s he has never taken any drugs in his life and i beleive him beyond doubt he is my longest serving man and loyal as a dog ,how did it get in his system lord only knows !!
luckily for me the main contractor can no longer get rid of my men for drug offences we have to offer help or rehab so we just carried on as we were !

You should retest him to see how long it remains in his system.
