I am not sure of the full facts but according to IGB statement on Talking Dogs the IGB are giving out only 2 euros a day. I have been told there are 4000 dogs in the RMS system.

People with pups, brood bitches, saplings must be feeling the pinch.

Figures for 2018 accounts show the Irish Greyhound Board paid out over 7 million in prizemoney which is approx. 135,000 per week.

You do not have to be Einstein to work out that if this money is not drastically increased many trainers and owners are going to have financial problems.

The Greyhound-Data Irish Fighting Fund has a small amount of funds left 1395 euro. I realise this is not enough to have an impact on the situation but if it will help some owners/trainers it is better than having the funds sitting in a GD bank account.

If you are having difficulty feeding or caring for your greyhounds due to the current situation please email me [email protected] and we will do what we can.

All correspondence will remain strictly confidential.

Thanks Lynda, judging by the emails I received so far Irish greyhound owners and trainers need help and the longer this goes the worse it is going to get.
