So, I try to write the words.

I try.

I write.

I delete the words.

I write.

I hit the delete button again.

I write.

But there are no words.

Today, I feel defeated by cancer.

Today, cancer won.

My heart feels like a block of lead that I cant lift off the ground. The sadness makes me reflect on the loss of my Dad.
I reflect on the fact that so many beautiful souls on this earth are taken away from us by this overwhelming disease. It is an epidemic of epidemic proportions. It is wrong. It is so painful

This morning at 4am My Dad Kenneth Leslie Wright passed away in his sleep after a Long Illness ..

He was not known in the Greyhound World but his love for the Greyhound was second to none .

Dad was my number one supporter ...

Ken was a Life Member of the Clayton Cricketers football Club and was a Life Member of the District Pool League ..

I'm so sorry Kev, to see the one you love get taken by this dreadful disease. I know how you feel as I lost my mum 22 years and nearly 3 months ago, to the day....to the same thing.

It's will be hard to fathom that he's gone but your dad will always live on in the memories you so cherish.

There isn't a day that I don't think of my mum. The same will happen to you mate. Shin up as I shed a tear for both our loved ones that are waiting for us on the other side.

Regards, Steve.

Terrible news, Kev.
He is now at peace, mate.
No doubt there are many fond memories and I hope they make it easier for you to get through this.

RIP Ken.

Hi Kev

My sincere condolences to you and all the family who loved your father Ken.

It is a tragic way to pass i.e. to fight this most ruthless of diseases, as so many others have before us, including my father and other relatives and friends.

The only benefit is for us, is that we are given the time to say goodbye, patch up any old stupid differences we may have had, have a laugh about them and then finally tell them how much we love them and how much we will miss them.

All the while they are suffering in their fight to stay alive.

Chin up mate and remember the good times

All the best

Sandro

My thoughts are with you and your family Kevin at this sad time.

Think of the good times you spent with him everyday, it will help ease the pain, you have endured but more importantly, he has endured in recent times.

Sincere condolences Kevin on your sad loss.

A special love has passed, this sad day
But your blessed spirit, is here to stay
I remember when, you first held my hand
How my little heart, beat so like a band

We became best friends, and such good mates
And your patient soft words, soon did relate
Our years together, made me wonderfully glad
Words seem inadequate, but there all I have

R.I.P. Dad..
