Forced to eat in at the Meadows last Wednesday as no one was able to leave the track .
The Meadows has always served crap food for years and they continue to do so ...Be warned bring your own when racing at this track

Example of the food on offer for free by the club.
You had only these choices at the Meadows ONLY

3 dim sims a bag of chips and a soft drink

Pasty chips and drink .

Sandwich chips drink

I must admit the chips tasted like they were cooked in dirty old oil in fact they made me feel sick ...

In comparison
Always doing it better than The Meadows year after year
Sandown Sunday ..for $10

Full sit in or take away meal all served in a foam box

Choose of 7 different foods
Lasagna ..Sweet sour chicken .schnitzels plus some other warm dishes served with salad and a drink ...

Well done Sandown you guys went well and above for your Members

Some friendly advice for the Meadows .

Look after your Members do not feed them crap everyone would be willing to pay for a decent MEAL .

Change your Oil your fried food has always tasted like shit ..

There is a reason why your kitchen struggles because the quality of food you provide is at best low grade takeaway ...

The tracks do not serve any Alcohol i do not know why maybe the GRV need to understand we are all Adults...

No coffee is available through out the night this makes it hard for many Members

The One free soft drink on offer at the Meadows was cold .

The one drink only policy at Sandown was served at just below room temperature ...it was ok

Sandown is by far the most progressive Club when it comes to looking after it's Members ..

The First thing the Meadows needs to do is to change the Oil they cook in as all fried food at the meadows is terrible and i challenge anyone to dispute my claims at best is a 2 out of 10 .

Kevs special sauce ratings of track meals

Sandown 7 out of 10

The Meadows

2 out of 10 this track needs to make sure every member is well feed with nutritious meals ..

I am yet to hear about other tracks and what they are doing to help its members at this tough time

I hope to see all tracks providing meals for its members for some its a very long day or night we need food and we need coffee ...
Two very simple requests ...IMO

Jack thats too simple for the GRV ..

Maybe we can get the useless integrity unit down to the tracks to serve the Members Tea and scones in a Coffee van what else do they do with their time ... We need some value for our money invested
Seeing that many are ex police we should set up a donut van as well

Thought this 'tread', was about----which track, provides or has provided, most 'respected', performance.
But surprised---It's about 'food rating'.!!

When a track serves up rubbish food you have to call them out otherwise they will continue to do the same thing week in week out .

Social Media is a great way to fast track change ..

The Meadows SOGGY Chips and food is at best Hospital grade standard compared to Sandown ....
FACT
I bet the Meadows Committee dont eat the chips if they did then they would say the same thing as me

100% correct Kev social media does work, a recent example from the city that drowns a meat pie in a bowl of soup. EXTERNAL LINK
Oh Danny boy, for the record The Meadows wins by 1/100 of a second or a grain of salt.
First split records Sprint distance:
The Meadows - Fernando Bale 4:89 27/5/2015
Sandown Park - Black Magic Opal 4:90 14/11/2013

KEVIN/Peter,--good to have courage, express convictions----only by the silence of good people, does ill will, prosper.

Interested---Achievement, over standard distance, eg. is Group1, rated higher, if achieved 'MEADOWS'.?

Group 1 at the meadows is the same as any group 1 in Australia .

The Meadows claim to have more Group 1 than Sandown but they fall short of delivering anything close to what Sandown can Deliver .

The Meadows should build a 600 meter straight track with a fish and chip shop in Broadmeadows

Beggars belief doesn't it.

Danny if you follow Aus greyhound racing I have a breakdown of sectional times that Group dogs run at The Meadows & Sandown Park in Melbourne Victoria, and Albion Park in Brisbane, Queensland.

PM me your email and I'll send you an attachment.

Peter,

Re "Oh Danny boy, for the record The Meadows wins by 1/100 of a second or a grain of salt.
First split records Sprint distance:
The Meadows - Fernando Bale 4:89 27/5/2015
Sandown Park - Black Magic Opal 4:90 14/11/2013"

The current GRV data shows Fernando also ran 4.90 on 7 May 2015.

During the 2000s my own surveys (800-plus samples) showed that the average differences varied between 0.00 and 0.02 which is saying much the same thing. (This involved comparing runs by the same dog during a 45 day period).

Mind you, after that it is chalk and cheese due to the different track shapes.

Bruce yes Jack Brabham's chalk and cheese tyre quote was in the back of my mind knowing the bends are of a differnt radius so I only included the 1st split but could you tell those at the GRV which I lhave copied below Sandown Park's records pasted off thier GRV Fastrack Website if they can add Fernando Bale to Black Magic Opal so I as a layman in this field will not be caught out again by you and your vast erray of statistics in the future. BTW do you like crispy chips as aganist those soggy rancid ones that has Kev most annoyed during this covid restriced patrons attendance period for the lack of changing the oil in the deep fryers to cut costs ?
Thanking you in anticipation to have Fastrack records fixed as I'm copping stick down in the talk section, it's most embarassing. - Macwollie

Intersting read, as I found when comparing the same dog at both tracks that its Sandown first section was closer to 0.04 faster than what was it - "much the same" as the Meadows........guess that's the difference to the first turn between average times and being precise. What wld I know, I adjust tracks for speed which is "fraught with danger". haha.

That 0.04 may not appear to be much at face value, however if your dog is a leader and drawn the inside, it can be the difference between holding the lead and not at the first turn - it's of huge significance and why I detest average times. It's a 'lazy' way of doing form and doesn't validate exceptional performance.

Having said that, doing something with form is always better than doing nothing and just guessing form.
