John,

Why don't you just cancel your greyhound data membership if you are so worried about someone getting a 1 page photocopy of your passport.

ps. If someone obtained the photocopy of your passport - what could they do with it except know you age and what you look like.

You Say - ''When you create an account on another website please do NOT use the same password for this account''.

Who has these details and how were they obtained??

If you have joined another forum, using the same email address and password as you use to log into this forum, then it is possible that someone may be able to access your GD account, as you have effectively "given" them your login details.

Verification and being a Verified Member is an entirely separate issue, and bears no relation to someone logging into GD and pretending to be you when you have given them your password (EITHER deliberately or by accident).

A post on Nuts, the poster asked how he could copy it to GD

If this is inapropate please delete.

QUOTE

I'm a member of a number of greyhound forums, and came upon NUTS (as I'm sure a lot of people have) as a result of reading of "The Conflict" on GD.

Let me state, right from the outset, that I think GD is the best greyhound site in the world. But I think there's more than enough room for everybody.

I think this site, like ALL the others, have a place.

A place where we can talk "doggie stuff", and possibly have a laugh and a giggle along the way.

I have posted on GD that I don't profess to understand what's happened to cause this "stuff" to happen, but I do know that nothing good (in the long run) will eventuate from it.

What, truely, are the possible outcomes if this continues? GD will cease, or this site will! Why? Does anyone really want either to happen?

I know I don't!! I'd be sad to see either site go - and that's exactly what will happen if the name calling and litigation continues from both sides.

Is there not a chance that BOTH teams can back off and have a think about what this is doing to greyhound forums in general? There's room for everyone!! It's not as though people are members of one forum, but not the other. Most of us, I would think, belong to multiple forums - and want to see them all survive and prosper.

It seems to me that some people think this whole thing is a blinking contest - the first to blink is apparently "the loser". I reckon the first person "to blink" will be the person who has the best interests of the greyhound industry at heart - and not their ego.

I'd love to wake up tomorrow and read that either Tom or Gunnar had picked up the phone to the other and offered an olive branch - and they had decided to handle this "stuff" like men. Maybe it's a pipe dream on my part - but I also think it may be the majority of others.

There's room for us all.

And for anyone who's thinking I'm a GD plant, I'm not.

I'm Fitzy on Helen and Ray's forum.

I'm Michael Fitzgerald on GD and GG, and I'm Maney Street on Racing Room.

ps - because I'm computer illiterate, if someone could show me how I could cut and paste this on GD, I will.

pps - this "stuff" has the potential to kill worldwide greyhound forums, the biggest man or woman will be the first to diffuse this bomb.

Why?

The post that you are referring boils down to WHY

I'll tell you why: This is not about egos or forums.

This is about crimes and to prevent more crime.
What all of you witnessed were several highly criminal acts.

Connor Brett
------------
Misused several accounts in the Greyhound-Data to manipulate people, to spread lies and to slander and defame innocent greyhound breeders.
This was acting in criminal way.

Mick Livesey
------------
We were informed that several greyhound related fraud charges are currently against Mick Livesey.
Not only to Mick misuse other peoples accounts, to our knowledge Mick misused our side as well to initiate some of this fraud acts.

Tom Brett
---------
Tom did misuse other peoples accounts before on this site.
Because of misuing other peoples accounts, Tom got a while ago
a permanent ban from our site.
Tom now illegally used passwords of innocent site users.
By misusing other peoples accounts, not only the attacked were slandered but also the innocent misused accounts where put into miscredit and defamed.
This was very illegal acting.

These criminal acting of these people is what gives the Greyhound industry its bad name.

To protect all of us, we all need to react on this.
Its important that this gets cleared up completely.

It also needs to be fully cleared up that not Imelda or Helen were defaming other people but that these impostors where behind this and that Imelda, Helen and all the other affected users are innocent.

I'm sure you will agree with me in the importance of this.

gunner how do you possibly expect the police to charge these people if you are slating them on a public forum, it would never stand up in a court of law now because of what you have just done on this thread, they could claim an unfair trial because it is now in the public domain, any hope of getting anyone charged with these offences has now gone.

I agree fully that there is place in te world for many greyhound forums. I have often stated that fact openly here on the forum.

John, why should BOTH teams back off? The GD Admin team did not infiltrate any other forum under false pretences. None of us used other people's ID's to cause havoc and trouble.

John, how would you feel if I logged into Nuts or Scene as you and called the Admin and members there some rather nasty stuff?

Have you EVER seen a thread on GD discussing any of the Admins or Mods or Members of any of the other greyhound forums? You haven't, because if it happens we delete it.

Greyhound Data, I believe have a proud record. There is the dog database with info on more than 1 million dogs. Race results of over a million races. Thousands of race videos. The ability to do test matings and free classifieds. Possibly the only forum where hard core racing people and hard core adoption people share a space, thoughts and ideas. We have never professed to compete with any other forum. In fact most GD members are also members of other forums, such as GG, GA, Scene, etc.

They are not being slated. Gunnar is stating facts.

andre the mere fact that he has named them publicly has ruined any chance of getting anyone charged,in fact in some ways it has left gunner open to prosecution himself,in law you have to be very careful who you accuse of doing things.
nobody is making things any better, a hand shake and common sense would be better for everyone all round.

Are you a lawyer, or expert in internet law?
If not please refrain from legal advise in the forum.

You propose a hand shake?
And you propose to let the fraudsters continue to rip of innocent people?

You are not serious with this, are you?
