If and when they spend more of our money realigning the so called state of the art track why not have the correct radius on the bends?
Please do not make another mess.
I hope the limerick goba have a good discussion about this at their agm.
We all should be expecting a statement from gb regarding neilans 30? Contracts , after all board members gave him their full support.

the gb submitted a business case to the department seeking a 2 year extension to neilans contract on the basis of exceptional circumstances.
these included the implementation of the gb's strategic plan?
the gb contended that the implementation of the plan required a level of continuity at the highest level in the organisation and that the knowledge,? experience? and skills? of neilan were crucial to affect these changes.
knowledge, experience and skills.
unbelievable.
how many of the gb agreed with this.

Yvonne,
Tom Hayes will only do what Phil hogan allows him to do and hogan has no interest in greyhounds.
Interesting that gb members are trying to distance themselves from the ex CEO after giving him their full support.
3 of the gb will be gone within the 1st quarter of 2014.
We should be ensuring the lot of them will be gone.

This video asks some far-reaching questions, all of which have been discussed at length on this Forum. The questions have now been raised in the appropriate formal arena and I hope the responses are forthcoming. We need transparency and honesty to build integrity and trust within our industry...and we need it very soon.
Well worth spending the time to listen to the questions raised.

CEO POST TO BE ADVERTISED NEXT WEEK 20/02/2014
Minister Tom Hayes told the Oireachtas yesterday that the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Irish Greyhound Board is likely to be advertised next week. Mr Hayes assured everybody that, like all Public Services appointments, it will be a totally independent process
It was also revealed that the Independent Review which he set up is half way completed and he hopes to have the Report in about eight weeks. He will then bring it back to the Oireachtas for discussion.
In response to tabled questions he explained the resignations of CEO Adrian Neilan and Board member Brendan Moore and confirmed that he had appointed Riona Heffernan as a highly qualified Accountant as a Member.

Lynda,
minister hayes has been more or less told that there should be no political interference in the appointment of a c.e.o.
hopefully he will go further and put a bill before the oireachtas doing away with the gb which over the years has been corrupt.
I said this before, what we need is a management committee to run the Irish Greyhound Industry.
1 a ceo on a 5 year contract. 2 a civil servant from the department (not 1 just punching in his last few years to retirement)
3 an elected rep for the Owners and Breeders.
4 an electe3d rep for all trainers both private and public.
5 a business person familiar with the industry.
6 a person with accountancy experience familiar with the industry.
3,4,5,and 6 will attend meetings monthly on an expenses only basis, no remuneration package.
the days of money being taken out of our pockets to finance wee pension funds and junkets for political appointees should be finished for all time.
