DGOBA MEETING LAST EVENING:-
Vote of NO confidence in the CHAIRMAN of the IGB Board. A vote was held and the Committee Voted, 100% in FAVOUR of the CHAIRMAN being REMOVED FROM OFFICE.
The Committee are seeking an early meeting with the new CEO of the IGB, to discuss the proposals for Harolds Cross. One assumes a man with Mr. Brady's business acumen would want to retain such a valuable asset for the Industry.
A discussion took place on the removal of Miss Larkin as CEO of the IGB. I informed the committee that I was given information that Miss. Larkin received a six figure payoff to move on quietly and observe a confidentiality clause. That would prevent her from exposing what she knows about illegal substances and Dog Dopeing. It may also prevent her from giving evidence to the Public Accounts Committee.
Remember the IGB will next month present the 2015 Accounts. YES the 2015 ACCOUNTS. THATS THE WAY THEY RUN THEIR BUSINESS. Let me assure you that neither you or I could run our business in this manner. If my Accounts weren't in for 2015, I would not receive a Tax Clearance Certificate to practice in 2016.
Get on now and sign the petition to immediately REMOVE THE CHAIRMAN of the IGB from his post. I would also recommended you request his fellow Board members to walk the plank.
The DGOBA 2016 Awards will take place soon. I will bring you more on this over the next few days.
Will keep you update.
Alan Redmond.

Tomorrow, The Dublin Greyhound Owners & Breeders Association, DGOBA, will announce the awards for Dog of the year, Bitch of the year, Public Trainer of the year, Private Trainer of the year etc. The awards presentation will take place in Harolds Cross Stadium at a date to be announced.
Have YOU Voted to Remove the Chairman of the IGB? if not you must register NOW.
Remember your vote is required if the Greyhound Industry is to survive. NO VOTE, NO CHANGE. VOTE NOW FOR CHANGE. Add your vote to Include the removal of the entire Board of The IGB.
NEW YEAR, NEW BOARD, NEW CEO, NEW OUTLOOK FOR THE INDUSTRY.
YES, There may be hope for the Industry in 2017. Under a NEW CEO, a man with business experience is now at the helm of our ship. He may not know Dogs however he does know business. He has the experience to renegotiate the refinancing of the Boards banking requirements. One must remember the Government own AIB Bank, and the Government also own The IGB. Therefore with 2,000,000 already paid off the overdraft at the end of 2016. Pay a percentage of the offshore betting tax to the IGB, ringfenced for payment off the borrowings. The money paid by SIS from Stadia coverage to be paid 50% to the IGB and 50% to the Stadia providing the racing. The IGB percentage to be ringfenced for payment off the overdraft and not to be used to hire more unnecessary staff for Limerick Head Office. Renegotiate interest charges with the IGB bankers, AIB. Do as John Delaney and the FAI board done with their Bank the other month. Agree a write down on borrowings and a more favourable Interest Rate. Otherwise MOVE the Business Accounts to a new Bank.
Business is Business and the Banks want good solid Semi State Business. Invite the Banks to put forward proposals to obtain the Business Accounts of The Irish Greyhound Board.
Mr. Brady should be invited to meet with Local Directors of each track. ONLY the Local Directors and NOT Directors who are PAID STAFF of The IGB. That way the New CEO will get a proper perspective of the track in question.
The situation the IBG finds itself in as a result of reckless spending by Dick O' Sullivan and Adrian Nealon and their Board, which Phil Meaney then inherited with the same characters on board is not beyond redemption.
Faith in one self. Faith in ones product. Faith in others to assist. The will to put things right for the good of others. A bit of Luck. Now we can keep this Great Industry afloat.
No need for sell offs. No need to put the small Owner, Breeder, Trainer of Graded Dogs out of business. "TOGETHER WE CAN SAVE OUR BELOVED INDUSTRY".

IGB Annual Reports

◾Annual Report 2014
◾Annual Report 2013
◾Annual Report 2012
◾Annual Report 2011
◾Annual Report 2010
◾Annual Report 2009
◾Annual Report 2008
◾Annual Report 2007
◾Annual Report 2006

Can someone please explain why the incompetent/ignorant IGB/CFO have still not published the 2015 accounts???, I am told the C/AG will not sign off on the 2015 accounts as their presentation is utterly diabolical, the C/AG have returned the same accounts to the IGB on a number of occasions due to serious discrepancies , if this were any other business they would have had the Sherriff at their door and been hit with a massive fine but not the IGB they are different to everyone else, I would like to know how Ministers Creed/Doyle can give their full support to an outfit not fit to run a burger van let alone a multi million euro business 60k per/day, This is what we end up with when failed political hacks are appointed to oversee a business they know nothing about, time to call in the fraud squad before they blow the lot. IMO.

There is no doubt that greyhound racing in Ireland is in poor health. The industry has been injected, infiltrated, given some stuff, it has been massaged, twisted and driven. Where are we right now? We are in need of serious change. We need a clear way forward.

WE need change that is for sure. However there will never be change under the present administration. Dick O'Sullivan and Adrian Nealon started the rot. Phil Meaney inherited the rot and ably assisted by Adrian Nealon he allowed it to continue. Nealon done a runner leaving poor Phil to explain to the Minister why he had fought to extend Nealon's contract.
We then welcomed Miss.Geraldine Larkin a lady with great Greyhound experience, She knew which end the food went in. That's about her knowledge of Greyhounds.
We now have a business man as CEO, I'm expecting Dr Brady will look over the mess that he has inherited. Hopefully he will have a good look at the archives of the Public Accounts Committee, when it previous CEO's and the Chairman appeared before the Honourable Members. If I recall rightly the IGB people were described as something like "Not Fit For Purpose", with one being described as a Waffler. These are the people who were running your business, when I say running, I mean running it into the ground.
The time has come for major changes in the Industry. Please bear in mind the word "INDUSTRY". There is mayhem when we hear of Industries closing in all parts of Ireland. Greyhounds are an Industry. They give employment to men and women who breed them, rear them, race them. The suppliers of food stuffs and medication. The garages who sell Transportation, Diesel and Petrol to the Owners and Trainers to get from Greyhound race meetings. The people who supply Sand and Services to the Stadia throughout the Country. Also the trainers who have their own sand gallops.
The Loyal Track Staff who make sure everything goes to plan on race night. The large number of Tote Staff who take in the 25% Of TOTE RETENTION for the IGB Coffers. The Chefs and all Staff in the Kitchens and Restaurants who make sure everyone has a Super meal on their night at the Dogs. Not forgetting Kitchen Porters and General Cleaning Staff.
The ever efficient Security Staff who control security at all stadia. The Turnstile Staff, Receptionist, Racing Managers, the Veterinary Staff, without who's presence the meetings could not take place.
Then we have workers internally and externally who carry out the printing for all tracks. The people who supply the racing sheets for the Dogs.
I must of course mention the Staff at Bulmer's who supply the Drinks to the Stadia. Of course there is the Food, Meats, Fish, Veg etc Companies supply these items to all stadia. They are in a way employed to service the IGB Stadia.
Finally we have the Stadium Commentators the Press and Last but not Least The BOOKMAKERS. They derive a living from functioning Greyhound Stadiums.
All of these people rely on Greyhound Stadium's for WAGES to Feed their Family's and Pay Their Mortgages.
Hopefully I have not forgotten anybody on this list.
As an astute businessman I would hope Dr Brady would look at the idea of meeting with AIB (TAX PAYERS BANK)to discuss a refinancing package for the IGB. The previous Chairman and the current Chairman along with the previous Two CEO's were not material for dealing with Banks. That is very clear to be seen when they Mortgaged stadia up to the hilt. A proper business person would have negotiated a write off, of part of the debt and refinanced the entire operation. Builders can do it, the FAI can do it, but not the IGB. Were the Semi State Bank going to call time on the Semi State IGB. I think not. AIB are not the only Bank in the Country there should have been talks with other lenders. Debt repayment can always be extended to facilitate a client, the bank don't loose as they still have the assets and are in for a greater interest payment by extending the term.
Please add your comments as it is essential that this thread moves up the line. Right now we should have a small bit of patience, let Dr Brady get his feet under the desk and se what lies ahead. It is very unlikely any master of Business would attempt to close a money making operation. In this instance I speak of my beloved "HAROLDS CROSS". Dogs run there but it really is a Cash Cow.
Details to follow on the Awards in HAROLDS CROSS next Friday Night.

Lots of Surveying and Measuring going on this morning in Harolds Cross stadium. A meeting must be held with the new CEO at the earliest possible date. There is a responsibility on the IGB Board to keep the Directors of Harolds Cross Stadium informed of any changes to the status of the stadium. By Harolds Cross Directors I mean the Four local Directors. The other Five Directors are Staff Members in IGB Limerick so they will be up to date with all the happenings.
The Pressure is on NOW. We Must immobilize the Greyhound Man, Woman and Child to fight these closures. Immediate action is required.
Lets hear your views on the Forum.

Minister Creed is the organ grinder here
is he not?

Attempting to close tracks may go down badly on the political front as Mike BAird found out.
The government seem to be backing a coach and 4 being driven through the bus drivers conditions.Race to the bottom for sure with the elite gorging themselves on obscene salaries .

Martin, you said it. Gentlemen and Ladies from Political circles do not like to hear about Job losses in any Industry. The Greyhound Industry has Stadia, North, South, East & West therefore how long would it be before their Local Stadium was on the list for closing?
I State my case again and again, the only people who can keep Greyhound Stadia from closing are "The POLITICIANS". We must UNITE and call upon ALL Politicians from ALL Parties to Support the Campaign to KEEP ALL STADIA OPEN. We must set a date to campaign outside The Dail. A date that needs to be Sooner rather than Later. Certainly before the "FOR SALE " Signs appear outside the Greyhound Venues.
You must immediately start to Canvas your Local TD's, Senators and County Councillors. Not forgetting our MEP's. Brian Hayes a great lover of a night out at Harolds Cross, his Local Track. Phil Hogan a great Greyhound Man helped get him elected. Just to mention a few.
I urge You, Get out NOW and make sure The IGB don't Sell YOUR Local Track to Developers.
Meeting of the DGOBA Committee to night. I will update you later on happenings.
Also I will give you the results of the DGOBA Awards.

More reason for the board to be removed this is shocking to say the least, what a waste of tax payers money, this amount of money could keep a few tracks in operation.

Why has the 2015 Annual Report has been removed from the IGB website? Considering it was published 6 months late, it didn't last long!
It was surprising that there was no big Fanfare (or even the magical birdie arriving on MF's desk) on friday welcoming its publication or were we not supposed to notice that it was available for viewing? It was necessary for Talking Dogs to publish a diatribe of "alternative facts/fake news" about the planned picket in Shelbourne but, on the same day, the release of their most important document of the year doesn't get a mention!
If a person wasn't so naive and trusting they might be suspicious of the Board's motives.

Perhaps the CAG returned them again.
As regards Geraldine Larkin, can no one phone Phil Meany and ask him?
If this lady got close to Half A Million and the Legal Eagle's got almost almost 1.5 MILLION, as stated in the 2015 accounts. Then our good friends in Limerick have wasted 2,000,000.00 of your prize money.
Geraldine failed to have Harold's Cross rezoned, that was her downfall. She failed miserably and the clowns in the IGB Circus failed her very badly. Surly when the City Council members told her at the meeting in Harold's Cross that they would vote against the motion to rezone the Stadium and surrounding lands, her and Phil Meany should have been listening. Now we have a property worth buttons in comparison to what is was worth before the stigma of "failed to rezoned land" was stamped on it.
The time has come for a complete clean out of the IGB Board members.
A new beginning is required if this Industry is to survive into the future. The present crowd have no option but to resign forthwith. These people are now contaminated and therefore it is pointless to inflict them on the Greyhound Community any longer.
Let's get this Industry back to number 1 in the four legged sporting world.
Don't forget Saturday 3pm Shelbourne Park,Protest to Save Harold's Cross.
See topic, Join Picket and Save Harold's Cross.
