Very interesting that alot of people claim the dogs involve a heap of luck.

Michael Ivers is by no means a public rearer dealing with large quantities of pups & that's 2 dogs in fairly quick succession from 2 totally different breedings that have come off his property and broken records. "Punch One Out" and now "Space Star".

Seems like Michael has created his own luck & others. Lets hope the "luck" continues with the 2 you reared for me.

Good work mate.

As Gary Player used to say "People tell me I'm a very lucky golfer - it's funny, but the harder I practice, the luckier I get"

That's great, I will try and flip that some how and use it against someone in an arguement.

I thought she was reared at Michael's property in Somersby? Or was it at someone else's property?

I could name you a couple of rearers Dawn that I could assure you would have sawn legs off Punch One Out.

Some of these people never seem to get dogs to the racetrack let alone win races. Greyhounds Australia seem to have a problem with welfare issues at the moment.

May I suggest to them that they should seriously take a look at rearing figures. I would like to think that their welfare problem with so many dogs not making the track would be halved.

dawn well done on the win and record
james only if it was as easy as just winning big races and going to stud
paul I think Jason would need a touch more then a $100,000 to by space star,
joanne couldn't agree any more with rearers and the stats at what the average number makes it to the track,
that's one thing greyhounds australiasia needs to do in a big hurry,

The previous record was held by Where's Keroma, set on 2/11/13 35.16
Considering the dog didn't get to the lead until the post first time around, it was a terrific run.

Peter,
I can name dozen trainers who would have sawn a leg of him. Lol

Sorry, had to be said.

In reality, enormous effort and congrats to Dawn, I had a look at the pedigree and the grandmother (Tears) started off her career in the same fashion 35.22 winning by the straight, she had five starts and was retired, then went to an American sire, (Michael loves Yanky sires) and produced Tonto Tears who went very nicely. If this fellow stays sound and chases every start, Dawn will need a couple of new Trophy cabinets.

I wish her well.
