On GRV's website 6/7/18 - GRV stewards investigating possible breaches to GAR 101(2a) - hope it's an over reaction by all and things settle down, as from a far JQ has done a great job with breeding, rearing and training his own greyhounds.

Gents, we were planning on getting out over the next 12 months. We've got projects in Africa which are more enjoyable and a lot less regulatory than what this game has become. When my Mum needs a police clearance to own 10% of a dog, then the state board can't be bothered answering an email about it, it shows how far detached the rulers are from the ruled.
This investigation and another one from SA, just made our decision come a bit quicker.
I'll still be racing over the next 3 months. Selling pups is phase 1 of the exit strategy.

But this thread is about Reeta.
Slow. Over the top. Couldn't get 400m.
150+ winners. $260k prizemoney. 100% pups winning.
She's a 1 in a million.

Quinny,
I'm not sure whether this is just another dummy spit or you are serious, but selling your pups is probably a good sign of the later.
Like most, the camel is loaded to the max and it doesn't take much to break its back from there.

In all sincerity, I think it's a shame but at the end of the day you gave it a good go and the miles you travelled to do it showed your true commitment.
Most people would not have done what you did, including me...bugger that.

So, if this is the end, my friend, I pay you the ultimate respect...a lasting, short poem...

The path is long with wires and guns
Few avoid injury except the blessed ones
Blessed you weren't so you worked it madly
No-one can protest and I say that gladly

To you and yours I wish you well
Whether it is right, time will tell
You could be a pain but can't we all
Good luck and be safe and stand tall

Don't forget the rands for the underhand.

Take care.
Love Micky.

I have one of Rustic Reeta's litter by Sulzanti only 8 months old but the most mature, switched on and forward young pup 1've ever owned and around 27kg already, l get the feeling she would throw to anything.

And here I was thinking the reason why you stopped placing your tips in the TIPPING COMPETITION, was because you were sh1t at it lol.

Take care mate in Africa.

PS...I once watched a documentary which was based in a native country, where if you came home from a hard days work & a spear was leaning outside your front door, it meant that another warrior was giving your missus a serve. Does that happen where you're going? Also, you'll have to practice up on your bungee jumping as I believe they've substitute rubber-bands for tree-roots.

A super producing bitch JQ made to look even better by the job yourself and the misses do, dedication like no other!
Hope all gets sorted with grsa, my 9 yr old soon guessed who the guilty party is so theyd only need to try a little bit to work it out themselves!

Last Thursday was a pretty awful day for both Jamie and Lydia. But like a true professional he got to the track to fulfil his commitments. My husband and I were waiting in Adelaide to see our Rustic Reeta bitch (Serene Machine) run in the last at Angle Park. As owners it was a big deal for us and we had travelled a long way that day to get there. Jamie made it another memorable night for us when he took Serena out for the last and showed what a great job he has done with our girl - even after such a "shit" day and then have the big drive home. I am so sad to think we are losing this amazing couple to the industry. But back to "Reets" - she can have a place on my couch anytime Jamie 😢

From a pedigree perspective a very interesting look at the successes of Rustic Reeta with Banjo Boy thru his sires dam Blue Girl Vane CLICK HERE gives up a more traditional niche replicating Light of Fire. I say traditional as that similar niche is whats prevalent with the Jindara Bale line as well.

The pedigree is interesting in that it creates a different niche but once again thru that Light of fire influence with this damline. If you look at the successes of Reeta's first litter with Cape Hawke thru his dam CLICK HERE Viva Odessa, once again an intense and very close relationship with Light of fire, far from traditional, and actually one I'd never seen before.

Of course we all know what happened when Light of Fire was put over this damline CLICK HERE .

Yet another example of a broodie who keeps on throwing to high percentage replicas of the most successful sire in her damline in Light of Fire.

Very sad day yesterday as we said the last goodbye to Reeta.

She was bought for $1500 having 2 wins over 400m in pretty slow time. She was the first dog I ever put a rug on and boxed.
Against all advice, I decided to breed with her and she has not yet thrown a dog that hasn't won a race.
First litter to Cape Hawke - 123 winners.
Second litter to Banjo Boy - 53 winners and counting.
Third litter to Sulzanti are 17 months so not long to wait.

I'm also glad to say that 4 of her first litter bitches have become broodies.
Sweet Savage has 11 pups to Hostile - 16 months
Jacqui Blax has a litter to Premier Fantasy
Monster Foxy and Bessie Belle are either due soon or have already had pups.

Reeta almost met her fate when she first came home and bit Mrs.Q
Then she had a blew with another one of our dogs and caused a fair bit of carnage. One day, the gas bottle guy left a gate open and she ended up in the local pound. Who knows how much fun she had that day in the streets....
But she became a terrific Mother, quite often teaching her pups in the yard, even at 8 months.
And most of all, she was such a beautiful pet.....eventually.

Rest in peace girl.
