Hi Ray, thanks for coming on board G Data I'll look forward to reading updates on here and checking out your new website. I have a 6 month old litter by Confident Rankin here in Australia and some nice lookers amongst them. I am trying to replicate his success over in IRE/ENG by using him on a Headbound bitch, is there any links you know of showing his races? I also have a Zero Ten straw which I plan on using in the near future hopefully producing another Magical Bale or alike,he's thrown some rippers. Best of luck Magical Bale can also be successful and produce the goods for Newpark Stud.
Simon ,thanks for your kind comments. Best of luck with your Confident Rankin litter. He has been a huge success over this side with very limited opportunities. He has thrown 3 flying machines in Clares Rocket ,Derby winner Ballyann Sim and Clonbrien Prince among others. You can watch all the Irish dog races on IGB.ie. Click on Racing then Greyhound search. All his Irish races are available. In order to watch click on blue circle with arrow on right side.

You might think 750 euro is a lot for an unproven sire Paul but there are sires in the UK who are 500 sterling or more and also unproven. Magical Bale was outstanding as a racer and has a top drawer pedigree. I am told he has mated well over 50 bitches since going to stud although I am sure its probably more. I am sure Ray could confirm this. If he was priced too high then he wouldn't have attracted so many bitches. I have no doubt that once his first crop hits the tracks this stud fee will appear more than reasonable. I intend to use him in the future although I think I will be paying a lot more for his services by then.

The reason I asked is because I know about his ability and his pedigree, plus on paper it looks a good match to the specific bitch that I have in mind, but, several Derby winners with excellent pedigrees have been abject failures at stud hence its my opinion that 750 for an unproven sire is a bit OTT
Cheers

Is the sire page's up to date Skywalker farloe 300
The dog is great value for money, he is the busiest young unproven Stud dog in the Country.
Therefore the breeders who are using him consider him value for money and looking at the bitches that he has mated, many of the top breeders are using him,.
It is a basic question of economics, your suggestion Paul that he is too expensive is your opinion and you are more than entitled to it but it is clearly not shared by the breeders who are using him.
As anyone who breeds a litter knows, the price of the stud dog is effectively irrelevant, within reason, in the context of the cost or rearing, say a litter of 8 to the age of 15 months.
In practice, a stud dog costing 1500 is actually costing less than 100 euro per pup than the 750 dog and the average cost of keeping a brood bitch , Whelping the litter and rearing them to 15months with microchipping/registration, worming, vets etc is approximately, 10-15k depending on where they are reared.
I am not saying that a dog costing 1500 is twice as good as a 750 dog, merely illustrating that the stud fee is a small proportion of the overall cost.
The breeders who are sending their bitches to Magical Bale clearly believe that he is value at 750.

On a different note will RISING BRANDY be available at stud?
Thanks
