Often see this line in advertising pups or rearing facility.
The best what? I remember going to a rearing facility that 'fed the best' They left the shed door open and there was a pallet of WoofBix.
Fed the best. Yep, the best in Big W.
If I see fed the best, I immediately bypass that ad.

Ever seen this anywhere before Quinny "Renovators Delight"" ? Or this "Owned by a little Old Lady"? or "Goes like the power of P*^*"?
Don't send your pups to a rearer and expect Science Diet kibble or Rump steak. for $60 bucks a week!
Kibble won't make any difference to your pups ability. Might make a little difference to his/her stools.
You have avoided going to the "Best Sires" on stats. And gone pretty good. Is your secret "Kibble"?

Broke in city class.
I remember an article years ago where a trainer in SA used to give his city dog pies to eat. All the time? I dont know. I vaguely remember the article.

Broke in city class. Keeping in mind that Mt.Gambier, Broken Hill and Bundaberg are all cities.
Huss, I wouldn't feed any dog science diet but I would me happy to throw them a few pies. I think it's fair to say that WoofBix doesn't make the list.
Where is MG? I need some lousy poetry.

100,000 people to make it a city. So, if they are...... Im hearing you.
Harrys Cafe de Wheels down at Woolloomooloo (down from King X), Newcastle and other places that serve pies, peas, mashed potatoes n gravy; they are to die for. I went on a cruise about 20 years ago and they had Harrys Cafe de Waves on board. No more cruises for me.

What did you expect Mark? Cruising up the Parramatta River.

I'm here, Marky, but there is no humour in me ATM. At my age I have built a strong armour of resistance to most insults, but alas, it has been penetrated and destroyed. Quinny has found my krypto. Years I have spent...no, ENDLESS years I have spent honing my craft of poetry... It is now reduced to "lousy".
I could retaliate with a barrage of insults, ridicule, and demeaning paradoxes, but I won't... I won't react to this unprovoked slur. It's a clear attempt at provocation and I won't come into it, Marky.
I thought this forum was at last starting to smell of fresh air again but now the waft of decaying prawns fill the room.

Aah Mickey G, it was the 'Quinny driving a Mini' that lost me as a fan. Up until that point, I held your poetry in high regard. But be honest, that was your pommel horse moment. EXTERNAL LINK But as for the great "Armageddon" thread. Classic. Once in a decade prose.

I think you'll find, if you look back at your private collection of my works, it was something like "Quinny's head's as big as a mini". There is no way I'd write something so mundane as "Quinny driving a mini".
I'm glad you enjoyed Armageddon, pity it got deleted. There was a good six pack of work in that one that went down the drain.
Fwiw, the difference between a good kibble and a bad one is the pretty pictures and bs on the bag. Best to check out what the main part of the diet is, not the cardboard.

Tezza, Cruising up the river with an average bag of kibble is what Im kind of used to, but give me a dog that jumps first and is in front at the first turn and Ill shout it a Harrys pie any day.

Marky, best swap that "Harry's" pie for a "Timbertown" one. And feed that kibble to the fish.

Feed kibble to the fish. Fatten the fish. Catch the fish. Pulverise the fish with some mouldy rice, chick peas and sweet potatoes. Add some powdered garlic, salt and one blueberry. Leave it in the sun for a week. Stick it in a bag and call it 'organic air-dried grain free kibble' Sell 2.2kg for $45.

Here's another one I hate.....
'I dont have the time to put into this dog'
Yeah but you have time to put into the one that wins a few races, just not the spud that cant run 200m that you're trying to get ridda.

I can recall sitting at a table at a Warragul meeting years ago, and listening to a trainer declaring "I would never feed my dogs chicken mince," as he ate four fried dim sims.

That's why I love going to the races. There are some characters out there and we need fellas like you Ian to tell us these funny stories or comments. That's very funny.
I remember seeing and smelling the dirtiest dogs at tracks and they'd win ! I've seen the cleanest looking dogs that on looks alone, would win a Group Race, yet they wouldn't win too many. The same with some trainers too, lol

The other side of the counter can be just as bad.
I recently had a bitch for sale. I received a text asking would I take an amount that was less than HALF the price. The text read..."Would you take $xxxx for ya bitch?" No name, no hello, not even a G'Day, just an insulting offer. So I text back "Yes". After a short delay he replies... " Oh, OK, um, I just have to talk to my mate about it and will get back to ya Monday." Really? He threw the biggest lowball and when it seemly pays off, he's got to consult his business partner? I text back..."Make sure you ask him which half of her you two are interested in buying. OK?"
