| The best vaule sires in Aust for a very long long time would have to have been - HEAD HONCHO and MALAWIS PRINCE. The barrier was broken when BL commenced his duties @ 3300.00. In relation to SLATERS stud fee he would have to be less than 3300.00 I would have thought to start. Is not as well bred as BL from the damside. I might be wrong , but would feel you might be paying a little to much anything over 3K when you consider what his dam has done on the race track and her litter was ordinary. You have to go back to MAD MIDGE until you get some decent winners. But he is the best dog going around at the moment!! I personally think he will probably start over 3K but would sit and wait on the fence until he throws something of ability not genetically. Richard

| My best were by Gun Law Osti $600.(What a cheap dog.Never got the numbers he deserved.)Also Gable Lafourche $770,Tantallon free and Bonjase(was around $500 from memory).I almost forgot Lilli Pilli Lad $770. Many times I have used cheaper sires and the pups have been really good.So what do I do?I say well if she can produce that to an ordinary dog, imagine what she'll throw if I take her to an expensive sire. Not one of mine yet have been any good to the more expensive sire.I think I'll stick with the cheaper ones that suit my bitches.

| For the record, the best performed dog i've had was a $400 dollar purchase and was by Franklin Deano who i think was $400 at the time. My best and fastest dog was by Collision. In my opinion,he was bout 6 lengths or so quicker than his litter sister who is a group 1 finalist. I did have a New Tears bitch who ran a length second in 30.62 at Penrith coming from last early,so i think she would have made some sort of stayer, but we lost her in a track accident. Unless i missed one,(busy at work),nobody here has used one of the super sires with any success! Is this telling us anything? Is my theory of it being a waste of time using them unless you have a champion bitch correct? It seems to the decent bitch a decent sire produces just as well as the big guns. Scott.

| my fastest was a pup by Hail The Champ ($300) if it wasnt for injuries he would have been a top dog (cracked hock and 2 dropped back musles). Still won 9 out of 18 races.
