Same here Mark. Having Harold Park and Wenty, created so much interest. Snow Report dominated HP and stayed away from Wenty for ages. Then when he finally ventured to Wenty, the buzz around his debut and whether hed handle Wenty made the sport great. Of course he debuted in a fast 30.95 and showed he was just a great dog. But, around HP he was scintillating! Cant wait for city racing once again around the big horseshoe tracks.

Freakish - repeat delivers Holstein Boy and then the sister Myalona delivers Memories Gate - all to the great Fast Sapphire!

Indeed they were!! Shame we lost the Johns from the industry!! Still remember Kevin telling this teen at the time Memories Gate was a get on from 1 or 8 at HP.

Many a time experts can explain why there is fast ones in a litter via abc
But don't explain why in the litter the slow ones are slow

Box 3

Matt,
You forgot to look at the Xy factor in the 25th generation.

Just my observations Paul
Slow dog carry the same xzy in there blood as the fast ones
But some people only realise the xzy or yzx after the fast ones win

They dont all get the exact same thing. Why putting your money where your mouth is, is the great leveller!

Were all trying to have an educated guess - Paul Wheeler, Mike Ivers, Liam Dowling are no different. Why, they also breed plenty of dud litters, even from the same top brood. The difference between all breeders, being how closer to educated v guessing are we all?

Again, burning your own money to find out, is the only way to go!

I have been there n burned my money n made money at same time
Good and bad
Iv bred some fast n some super slow
But sometimes if ya get it wrong
Ya not only burn ya own money
Ya burn others who buy rare n race as well

Incorrect Wayne. You never burn anyone elses money! They use their own educated v guessing to determine why they are buying from one litter v another litter. Its all on them!

Know many a person burnt buying so called fast ready to race dogs. One bloke spent $30k on a fast break in, so far has about $8k return from his 50/50 training deal at now 3.5 years of age.

At the end of day the we can say one thing about Breeding Theories. They are just that, breeding "Theories" not breeding "Laws". We can pontificate and surmise until the cows come home. In truth we are all using educated guesses and hoping for the best. If we had the answers, we wouldn't be chatting on Greyhound data about it. We would be actually doing it.

Agree, and why rearing is the quintessential part of the entire process. Because, whether your pup is Group class or not. As long as it chases, youre a great chance of getting it to the race track and winning races. Just at what level being the question! However, with prize money so good these days. Easy to get your money back or turn a profit when the rearer has done their job to the fullest.

We sold West End Girl as a pre-trainer for $2850 and she went on and won just over the 300s alone $25k. Why? Because my rearer put in the effort to get that result. Make sure youre buying something that boxes, chases and bites on and youre almost guaranteed to at least get your money back, most likely a lot more. As you know theyve been reared to the fullest!
