From my reading of the Irish 2009 Chart
Headbound is in fact leading the points/runner chart with a score of 39.50 points from a total of 135 runners.

Thats a score of 125%

Now compare that to Droopys Maldini
7.5 points from 311 runners. Thats a sore of 10%

Either headbound is doing something very right, Maldini is doing something very wrong or those stats are meaningless.

Neither of those two would be counting towards his 2009 figures.

March is turning into a great month for Headbound and although not as heralded as Maldini, the Hawk or some other home raced sires he really is getting astonishing results. This is only some of the results in March 09.
Swords Prince - wins €30,000 Tote Gold Cup in 28.44 showing fantastic consistency and early pace.(GD Rating 123)
Thurlesbeg Joker - Track record twice at Sheffield taking almost 6 lengths out of Farloe Reasons previous record. (GD Rating 136)
Raparee Polly - Wins Killeacle Consolation Final Tralee having broken the TR in the 2nd Round.(GD Rating 133)
Ferdia Bound - 2nd 600 Dundalk - also breaking track record (GD Rating 125)
Lenas maggie - Wins SF of €11,500 KGOBA Sweepstake Tralee (115)
Cumann Ciara - Wins FTON Dundalk 28.78 first look (105)

Early pace (Swords Prince), Staying power (Raparee Polly), consistency (Compass Mikey), genuine(All of the above) - throw all that into the pot and you have the prime contender to carry on the best of the Head Honcho and Sobbing Sal lines. 2009 looks like being a big year for Head Bound.

My Irish Open Winners Sire Table 09 (Source: GreyhoundNuts)

1. Top Honcho 69 OR wins
2. Brett Lee 36 OR Wins
3. Crash 30 OR Wins
4. Premier Fantasy 25 OR Wins

On the open race circuit in Ireland he is up in the top echelons, year is long and we will see how he goes from there.

Another super run by a Head Bound at Dundalk last night.
Holborn Mall wins by 11 lengths in a flying 28.43 (FTON), Hillcroft Josie 28.46. Another example of the Head Bound x Larkhill Jo cross.

brilliant run by Thurlesbeg joker in the Scotish derby semi final. Walked out of box got held up twice and still did the fastest time.Surely if this dog breaks the track record has to go in the derby final.

What a brilliant run from Aughacasla jesse in Wimbeldon. 27.75. Also Ferdia Bound ran a sensational 46.37 over 736m in Mullingar and the track rated 80 slow.

Michael,

Why have you advertised Head Bound in Australia as

"A full litter brother to Brett Lee" ?

This was discussed on another thread.

Probably should be read "Better than Brett Lee"

Thanks Brian,

Either way it's untrue.
