So we are paying more in Oz,a country where he is totally unproven.
A country where HH dogs have had nowehere near the impact as in Ireland.
Seriously,i wish the dog every ounce of luck, but when Big Daddy Cool is half the price, they must be kidding.
What are they thinking?
Scott.

Hi Jim - Headbound litters in Oz (from latest 2 stud books):

Teddy Bear 5 pups Sept 2006
Awesome Nicole 2 pups Oct 2006
Peppertree Kiss 8 pups Dec 2006

PS If you go to The Dogs website / Racing / Greyhound Statistics and search by sire/dam 5 Head Bound offspring are listed - you can check their performances there.

So whats the news on this thread. Is the dogs stud fee still $2000 overpriced, are his pups backing that price up on the track. I noticed some pups for sale at more than his overpriced stud fee. From an unraced bitch, out of a brood that produced little and damline that was relatively quiet in the quality offspring department. Whats the world coming to.

Has there ever been a Head Honcho dog standing at $3300 in Australia????
I can't recall one even getting close.
How this dog can be standing at this price is absolutely beyond comprehension.
He is going gangbusters in Ireland, but every single HH dog sent there has done well, yet they have been great bread and butter sires here at best, and if Go Wild Teddy couldn't get that much, what has this bloke done in Oz to justify it?
I really don't get it.
If i had a pure Irish girl here,i'd think about him,but short of that, there are much better and more proven yet cheaper options here.
Scott.

Many head honcho dogs flopped here too.Only top honcho has been a roaring success and stud keepers imported head honcho dogs en mass as a result. They in turn mated huge numbers so had the perfect start.Go wild teddy only has one dog of note in the country.Honcho classic is a useful sire but they rarely feature at the tail end of group ones in Ireland.
Headbound however does look like hes going to make the grade.I doubt he'll make it to top honchos level but thats hardly a critisism.
I do however find it bizarre that Aussies are being charged a higher price than us for a sire that has yet to prove himself over there.Seems like a pathetic piece of marketing to me and if I was in ye're boat I'd find it very hard to justify the price.

What Head Honcho sires moved offshore before Top Honcho? The want for them came after the influence became dominant, while others have now produced some quality, while still a long way short of the numbers of the top dog. Head Bound being similar here in Oz, while with Go Wild Teddy being the most consistant son, after which others improved in the ranks. The Uk will have the most runners with some nice types, but here, he will just not cut it. He stands where feedback is negative re his fee, yet with limited numbers available offshore they expect top dollar, and will no doubt produce little to get any blood pumping. As with stats, other well bred sires, unraced whatever, he is the product of a somewhat very greedy person. His daughters offspring, lets not write home about them, although it may be called a bit early for a dog that age. Fucking joke really.

He would be the most underused $3,300 sire in this country...

Yep - I don't think many Aussies are being charged $3300 because he won't get much business at that price. Pity - he has some useful bloodlines there.

Hi Kieran

There is plenty of Brett Lee blood here, but not much cut with Irish blood

I reckon if you price him reasonably say at $880 or $990 and have his semen at a prominent fscility or even better bring the dog out for AI & natural services you may get a pretty decent response
