| On another thread we'd been talking about Ballyregan Bob and his lack of descendants and here you have one! Either of these crosses would double up on his blood and possibly another Bob!! EXTERNAL LINK and CLICK HERE You'd never know, Christine at Merefield stud may even stock a vial of Minaki Zeke or Oswald Cobblepot getting you a line closer!! Best of luck

| This chap is attracting a fair few bitches Danny. Ignore his recent form as he has been running with niggles for a while now. Look at his Group wins and times etc at the Stow in particular. What do you think? danny gomersall wrote:

| Why not have a look at Jesters Nap, just retired to stud after sustaining a hock injury. This son of droopys vierri won Stan James puppy derby last year and only ran open races of which he won near on 50 p.c. Of Vierri,s 7000 odd offspring he had a race rating of 125 which put him among the top 14 of this super sires puppies.Think you will find details on page 5 in the breeding section .

Danny, as far as I am aware the expression "bred in the purple" is just a fancy way of saying "well bred" and IMO all greyhounds can be considered well bred - that's why the mating that produced them took place. In all honesty I wouldn't get too bogged down with the "flowery" language used by breeders etc. regards, Maureen

| thanks maureen all i want to do is learn more more. im a new to the scene, im only 24. i was never allowed a dog at home so when i bought my house the first thing i got was grey which is dans on fire @ 5 months old.boy is she keen i applied for my license in june 2008 it took 8 months for it to get to me. my dogs needed to start racing, but i had no license, so i took the to a flapping track till i got my liense, dans on fire got to the final of the christmas handicap after winning her semi by 5 legnth. she came off the track lame. got her xrayed, she had chipped her accesory bone in 3 places.straight away i new that was the end for her.she as rested fro then tillmay/june 09 then whilst at my track i was talking o a trainer who trains farloe spiderman. she was telling e he had don both is stopper bones. so i thought id give hr a spint trial after a longish rest. so with no work going into her only a few walks i trialled her she did 20 spots inside the grading for the sprint tried her over the 483m she led from 1st to the 3rd by 6 lengths and still pulling away and all of a sudden she trapped up and stopped the dog what won did 20 to 30 spots inside grading and they was 6 length behind her ans she was still pulling away. god knows what time would have done. so from there on ive stopped her. i really would like to breed her to get some offspring from her hopefully they might start from, where she left off ??? time wise i got my licence feb 2009 i have 4 dogs, 2 which are bitches, which are also litter sisters, the litter sister to dans on fire injured her hip in the rearing paddock. she was schooled but the hip injury was always seem to be a niggly problem. she has a funny walking action and a funny running action she has had a few trials but not able to grade due to the hip problem the other 2 dogs i have are litter brothers i have 1 already racing DANS MALDINI and the other has his sealing trial tommorow after being rested for 5 month after a sprained hock whilst trialling. he is doing well inside grading time he is just not race fit yet.this dog is called MALDINIS MALDINI but ive changed his name to CLEVER TREVOR but the paper work is not through yet

| Best of luck Danny but it's very important to resist the temptation to get more dogs!! Too many, half done are no good to anyone. Be careful!

| Danny, I have to agree 100% with Kieran's comment about numbers!!!However, if enthusiasm equates to success then you should be very successful!!!! As your bitch has raced on independent tracks you will obviously know her good traits and her not so good traits. Only my opinion but what I would suggest you try to do (not always easy) is look for a stud dog that will enhance her good points and eliminate the not so good (or at least some of them). If you find a stud dog that you like and want to know more about it then you can ask on here for opinions on his offspring. I have found members on here to be extremely helpful and honest in their assessments. You could also ask people at your local track who have dogs by that sire for their views. Also, imho you should bear in mind that she could have any number of pups (upto 10 or more) so if you need to sell any to help cover some of the expenses, you are more likely to do that from a proven sire. Best wishes with whichever sire you chose. regards, Maureen

| dont know if this fellow is still available EXTERNAL LINK but looking back crosses well, you will have a massive problem selling pups as your bitch has done nothing to note, so be prepared to rear the whole litter, done properly this will cost you at least £1200 per pup to get to track.
