Hi all,

Dyna Lachlan is now into full swing as a stud dog and has taken to it like he did on the track as a sensational race dog.

$438,215 in prizemoney, 47 starts, 26 wins, 11 placings and raced most of his career in feature races, over 20% were Group race finals. He has a sensational temperament and his as tough as they come on the track, two very important factors in a top stud dog. As is the litter he came from. His sister Dyna Obelia has won almost $100,000 Group 1 finalist and 20+ races, Dyna Odgen multiple city winner 30.04 Meadows ect, Go Wild Felp was also a multiple city winner and Goup 1 Finalist.

I've worked him three times for frozen semen and we've collected 7 splits/vials per ejaculate which is brilliant for any dog, let alone one that's recently retired.

Three bitches arrived today for him, one more over the weekend, 4 frozens have already been purchased and Paul Wheeler has already put 3 bitches to him. So he's off to a flyer!!!

His frozen is available at Sandown, Charmer Lodge, Greg Sternberg as of tomorrow and Adelaide Plains from Saturday and will be arriving at most other facilities as soon as we can.

Cheers

Surely this is a new dog to the stud scene that will get plenty of attention and plenty of bitches. Good luck with him Paul.

Cheers Michael.

Dyna Lachlan had another great bitch book in last night. Group 1 winner with $395,000 in prizemoney "Miss Slick".

Frozen semen for Dyna Lachlan and Turanza Bale will be available from Avon Valley this Friday. A top up of Path To Power is also in the shipment.

Cheers

Paul dnt thnk im being negtive 2wardz u or tha dogs..
Statisticly bale males dnt make stud dogs..over tha last 40+ yrs the only 1 2 succeed is lansley bale mayb the farloe kickd in..
Its tha bitchs that shine..
I remember in 70s-80 mr wheeler snr put around 100 bitchs 2 temlee at a $1,000au..and that was huge $ at that time..its that choice thats got tha line what it is 2 day..and remember tha line has allwayz work with outcross in it..
With 70% bitchs carryn imp blood ur boyz might change them statz.??
May many winnerz come..

Cheers Wayne,

I think it's fair to say as successful as the Wheelers dogs have been for decades, they have really evolved to a whole new level in recent time. They have won almost everything!

Paul Wheeler has several lines so to stero-typically put them all in the same basket as say a stud dog 30 years ago, doesn't make sense to me. Stud dogs are individuals, some have the X factor to upgrade bitches while others only seem to produce to top notch broodies which bluff alot of the public into thinking they are better than what they are.

Paul Wheelers dogs carry the prefix of mainly "Bale" and "Dyna" as we all know which can undermine the $50,000-$100,000 type dogs that aren't Dyna Lachlan's, Kantarn Bales ect which stand out, they go under the radar.

Dyna Lachlan's litter for example not only had him who won $438,215 but two other Group 1 finalists that have won almost $130,000 between them, Dyna Ogden who's won 10 city races and $44,000. ect. Most people probably don't even know they are litter mates to Dyna Lachlan.

Paul Wheeler is dominating and producing hard tough chasers second to none at the moment, which is why I first contacted Paul to use Dyna Lachlan on Runway Model and we got talking about his future stud plans.

Paul has broken in two litters of Buttsie Bales with some outstanding youngsters in them showing as much potential as you could ask for and I have no doubt his top line race dogs will have the ability to produce, otherwise I wouldn't of taken them.

As a breeder the biggest thing I've learnt is not what is the best genetic click success rate examples which is definately important but seems to be the most talked about advice written on forums from by people that don't have first hand experience in trying to get certain breeds to chase. Temperament and chasing under pressure is just as important and is something inexperienced breeders need to place more of an emphasis on. It's irrelevant how fast they are at breaking in or trialling, it's what they do in a full field with dogs either side of them hitting them at 70km per hour. Do they go forward or backwards. Nonnies don't put serious dollars in the bank, they just give you headaches!!! It's bred into them as are many other genetic influences in behaviour.

That's why I think dogs like Dyna Lachlan will be super stud dogs and take our breed back to where it should be because they have massive motors, big hearts and a line that produces city and Group winners consistantly. Any dog that can win 26 out of 47, spend 20% of his career in Group finals and win $438,215 before the age of 2 years and 10 months is a dog I'll take a chance on.

All the best Wayne and many winners to you to mate. Hope I didn't bore anyone. lol

Wayne you are spot on, Dyna Lachlan, Kantarn Bale and Buttsie Bale are all out of outcrossed Wheeler bitches, not by Wheeler sires...and whilst I rank Dyna Lachlan as the best and most consistent race dog in Australia over the past 24 months, it has been the Wheeler DAMLINE "that produces city and Group winners consistently" not the sires.

You might remember a Wheeler line dog that went to stud a few years ago called Whisky Assassin...the results never matched the hype and he now struggles to get bitches at a much reduced fee.

I struggle to believe that Buttsie Bale will make it either, Spiral Nakita's is a damline, not a sireline, meaning Late Late Show etc. have had little impact, but his bitches are invaluable, especially bred back to Aussie sires.

Hopefully I get proved wrong, as Dyna Lachlan was the real deal, taking on the best all over Australia, unlike some of the other recent additions to the stud ranks...

Thank 4 that.
Go and c how many bitchs paul wheeler put 2
Whisky assassin??
And he was a champion race dog..wouldnt u thnk paul knew dogs aint tha go..
And iv been tryn 2 say 4 4 yrs spiral was a damsire,.not a sire sire..
Same as
Malawi line sires. But have been laughed at 4 it..
If it wasnt 4 imports we would b breeding 200m dogs as our broods r riddld with same blood.

I think the depth of the Benden Flex damline is one that can't be overlooked with Dyna Lachlan, as Paul commented many Bales or Dyna's just slip through the system un-noticed.
Benden Flex herself is by a Bale sire (ashom).
The GWT litter were very successful.
The outcrossing is already done for you in Lachlan's pedigree.

College Causeway/Dyna Lachlan have certainly sparked my interest in the GWT line as a sireline.
I will be using Dyna Lachlan this year.
You can never be over confident with breeding from any sire (or dam for that matter), but given the opportunity I dont see any reasons why Dyna Lachlan cannot/will not succeed at stud.

Good luck to Paul Westerveld, he markets himself, his property, and his greyhounds very well.
Who knows, this may be a partnership that sees many a Wheeler stud dog make the sire's charts in the future?
The right opportunites early is obviously a crucial factor in bringing about a succesful stud career.

I agree with Warren on this one

The Wheelers have never been great marketers of their stud dogs tending to rely on the strength contained in their own damlines and being brood focussed & producing race dogs for their own team

As someone else has said, their breed has gone to a new level of tough chasers who run down their opposition rather than relying solely on good box speed to win their races

Their outcrossing program has brought enormous value to their own breed and any serious breeders would be foolhardy to think that their sires could not contribute to their own breed...IMHO

Personally, I am particularly liking Turanza Bale as a sire option

Good luck to the two PW's, I hope its a successful partnership

I agree with that too Sandro, while admitedly the Wheeler sireline has been a bit thin on the ground in the past, times and opportunities change and todays crop may well be the start of it.
Personally, I think it's a bit rich for you Wayne to analytically criticise wheelers sireline whilst at the same time, go way over the top espousing the 'brilliance' of AMERICAN damlines (namely your own) and how they will virtually re-invent the breeding wheel, so to speak , when they are totally unproven and an unknown factor in Australia.
That I find very hard to swallow.

I know people say he has mixd his bloodlines ect..but he has done it 4 15yrs got some top males from it..??
But none made it at stud..
Look i hope westy get a super stud..
As 4 legal air ray.
I know its a male line..

I know what 'you expect' from 'LA', but why come into another thread, titled DYNA LACHLAN and be critical of another persons expectations, I don't see Paul Westerveld getting on your thread and giving his negative prognosis and opinions.
Let Dyna Lachlan be judged on his progeny's results, the same should also be applied to your bitch 'LA'.
