Michael, It is extremely unfortunant that he has not attracted more broods here. At $900 IMO is to low if people looked a little deeper.

Three Windy Millar pups qualified for the semi finals last night at Nottingham in the group 1 event
Low gate Rock won ( fastest time of night )
Low gate onyx won
Low gate zircon 2nd trouble at 1st or would have won
Windy night qualifies for semi final of Henlow Derby
These are high class events and it's great to see Windys pups doing the talking

A GREAT read on "Windy Millar" by David Brasch.......

WINDY MILLAR at stud

GREYHOUND breeders the world over have looked long and hard at pedigrees and come up with their own fors and againsts when planning matings.
They ask themselves, do we line breed in a bid to reinforce our own dominant bloodlines, or do we outcross in a bid to strength the foundations we already have with a powerful dose of hybrid vigor.
With English Group 1 winner WINDY MILLAR breeders throughout the world already have the best of both worlds.
Thats because WINDY MILLAR brings together the very best of Australian sirelines with the power and might of some of Ireland and Englands greatest female influences.
It was this combination, of Aussie sire Honcho Classic with fabulous producing Irish bitch Any Time Soon that made WINDY MILLAR the Group 1 winner he was on the racetrack.
There was never any doubt Any Time Soon would produce a quality litter to her mating to Aussie dog Honcho Classic.
The bitch had already done that in 2005 when mating legend sire, Aussie classic winner Top Honcho. That litter was responsible for Group class gallopers Barnfield Brooke, Barnfield Haveit, Daring Honcho and Jemmy Doodlebeag.
In a 2005 mating to local star Droopys Vieri, Any Time Soon had already whelped Group 1 performer Barnfield Beast.
To Honcho Classic (Head Honcho-Sure Lass), her litter brought forth WINDY MILLAR the winner of the Group 1 Select Stakes and Group 3 Kasco Unraced. He would also finished second in yet another Group 1 Select Stakes and be a finalist in the Group 1 Sussex Cup.
But broodbitch owners are a picky bunch.
They demand that any prospective stud dog MUST come from an entire litter that performed not just one lone individual star.
In that Honcho Classic-Any Time Soon mating also came Group 1 performers Little Boy and Little Jig.
But Any Time Soon wasnt about to be finished there.
It wasnt lost on her owner Sean ODonnell that she did spectacularly well when mated to Aussie bloodlines.
So he put her to legend Brett Lee in 2007, then yet another Head Honcho dog in Go Wild Teddy in 2008 and then Brett Lees half brother Big Daddy Cool also in 2008. Each and every one of those matings produced Group quality performers.
Any Time Soon (Staplers Jo-Toss Spirit) indeed is a blueblood of producers.
For those who delve deeply into bloodlines, the success of Any Time Soon was no surprise. She is intensely in-bred to that most famous of Irish broodbitches, legend Skipping Chick. This is a family that does spectacularly well when it is reinforced within itself.
Any Time Soons sire Staplers Jo is hugely in-bred to Skipping Chick and her dam Toss Spirit brought in yet another cross.
Any Time Soons pedigree stands up to any interrogation. Her second dam Batties Spirit (Batties Whisper-Lady Arrancourt) was a true legend of the Irish racetrack and at stud.
As a race bitch she won the St Leger and Derby Consolation and was runner-up in the Irish Derby and third in the Irish Oaks. Batties Spirits litter brother Batties Rocket won the Irish Derby. At stud Batties Spirit produced Group 1 winner Word Of God who was also multiple Group placed.
So, when we take a close look at the damline that produced a dog like WINDY MILLAR, no one can question its greatness.
His sire Honcho Classsic was yet another fortuitous Aussie purchase by leading Irish studmaster Michael Dunne. On the racetrack in Australia he was very good, but not great. But he is from one of the strongest female lines this country has seen and traces directly to the same family as legend Temlee.
At stud for Michael Dunne, he became a great.
As well as WINDY MILLAR, he sired the great Ningbo Jack a super sprinter, and Air Force Honcho a marathon star, plus many, many other Group performers.
So when WINDY MILLAR retired to stud he went with wonderful credentials. A Group 1 winner, by a champion sire and out of a damline among the greats.
WINDY MILLAR is available to breeders in Australia and he gives them, as we said, the opportunity to tap into the best of both worlds.
So how do Aussie broodbitch owners utilize WINDY MILLAR?
To be frank, the opportunities are endless.
At stud, WINDY MILLAR will be greatly influenced by his damsire the legend sire Staplers Jo. At stud he was a champion and has left that wonderful stud influence Larkhill Jo. Because Staplers Jo comes into the pedigree of WINDY MILLAR via a DAUGHTER, broodbitch owners who have Staplers Jo via a SON in their pedigree can safely mate to WINDY MILLAR.
Of course the natural influence here is Larkhill Jo.
He is found in many pedigrees in Australia.
The hugely promising Fabregas is fast taking on the world at stud and significantly his damsire is Larkhill Jo. Daughters of Fabregas will be absolutely perfect for mating to WINDY MILLAR.
But Larkhill Jo can be picked up in mountainous numbers throughout Australia. Other stud dogs with Larkhill Jo in their make-up whose daughters could suit WINDY MILLAR are, Ahane Lad, Digital, Classy Maldini, Jim Joes Up, Makeshift, Phoenix Ice, Paddys Flame, Taylors sky, Valentia Citrate, Westmead Osprey and the famous Droopys boys Kewell, Maldini, Marco and Scolari.
Of particular note should be bitches by Fabregas, Makeshift, Taylors Sky and Westmead Osprey who all have Larkhill Jo in their damline and with a great ability to link with Staplers Jo in WINDY MILLAR.
The fact Staplers Jo is hugely in-bred to Skipping Chick also opens up possible matches with bitches that carry Spiral Nikita in their pedigree and in Australia this is just about everywhere.
Thats because Spiral Nikitas damsire is Curryhills Fox who is also a most famous offspring of the Skipping Chick family.
WINDY MILLARs second dam Toss Spirit is a daughter of champion sire Slaneyside Hare who is by Skelligs Tiger a litter brother to Curryhills Fox (and the Aussie-based Curryhill Brute).
Thus it is only natural that bitches with Spiral Nikita in their pedigree should be tested with WINDY MILLAR.
This can be picked up through daughters of Cosmic Rumble, Oaks Road, Magic Sprite, Talks Cheap and of course the great Irish sprinter Milldean Panther. Spiral Nikita is found is a multitude of female lines throughout Australia.
Another option could be the famous Slaneyside Hare sireline. Slaneyside Hare was a wonderful youngster who retired to stud in Ireland and became an instant legend. However, his stud career was short lived.
He is the sire of WINDY MILLARs second dam.
This link is best introduced via Premier Fantasy who has become a household name among pedigrees in Australia.
Premier Fantasy can be picked up in many pedigrees of broodbitches in this country and they too should be tested with WINDY MILLAR.
His sons, champion Fear Zafonic, the Group 1 winner Jagger Swagger, successful Hurricane Luke, Prince Diablo, Tuiaki can all have their daughters mated to WINDY MILLAR with confidence.
This aspect can also be picked up via the US stud dog Kelsos Fusileer and in the future Westmead Osprey and Premier Boloney.
Fear Zafonic daughters will be particularly well suited to a mating to WINDY MILLAR because he too is saturated with the Skipping Chick female family.
Interesting to note that Staplers Jo is out of a daughter of speed influence Daleys Gold. This can be balanced via a cross of the English Group 1 winner Balligari who stood in Australia some years ago. He is a SON of Daleys Gold and is found in the damline of prominent stud dog Lochinvar Marlow.
When Ahane Lad was brought to Australia some years ago, much was expected of the great sprinter, winner of the Group 1 Easter Cup. But he faced his own issues in this country but proved successful, mainly via the use of legend breeder Paul Wheeler.
Bitches by Ahane Lad are an absolute MUST for mating to WINDY MILLAR.
Why?
Because Ahane Lad is bred on an identical cross to Any Time Soon the dam of WINDY MILLAR and provides an ideal balance for every mating that is done. Any Time Soon carries daughter crosses of Staplers Jo and Slaneyshie Hare, while Ahane Lad carries SON crosses of both those dogs.
WINDY MILLAR should mate as many Ahane Lad bitches as possible.
Which brings us to the sireline of WINDY MILLAR Honcho Classic.
Honcho Classic is by Head Honcho from a daughter of Malawis Prince and thus is bred on an identical cross to the Melbourne Cup winner and leading sire Go Wild Teddy.
So, it would be only natural that broodbitches with Go Wild Teddy in their make-up should be tested with WINDY MILLAR.
This aspect can be picked up via his great sons College Causeway, Dyna Lachlan, Allen Harper, Hesa Felon, Milldean Panther (a special mating for WINDY MILLAR) and in the future Barcia Bale and Shakey Jakey.
The damline of Honcho Classic is that of the famous broodbitch Val Matese an incredibly in-bred bitch who is from the same family as legend Temlee.
It is also the family of some wonderful stud dogs of today, all of who would provide an opportunity to mate their daughters to WINDY MILLAR.
Honcho Classic is from the direct damline of Velocette whose daughters would appear an absolute must for matings to WINDY MILLAR. Others from this line include Bit Chili.
Both these dogs are sons of Bombastic Shiraz who will bring in a daughter strain of Malawis Prince. Duplicating Malawis Prince within Australian pedigrees has been a wonderful recipe for success for the past decade.
This can be achieved via bitches who carry Go Wild Teddy, Bombastic Shiraz, Collision a giant trio among stud dogs in this country. But Malawis Prince is also available via Collide, Ace Hi Rumble, El Galo (also brings in Curryhill Brute), High Earner (again brings in Curryhill Brute), Give Me Five, Elite And Classy, Goodesy, Mantra Lad, Miagi, Runs House, Spring Gun, Take The Kitty and Vee Man Vane.
One stud dog whose daughters could particular suit WINDY MILLAR is Superman. Thats because he does spectacularly well when he mates bitches with a SON of Head Honcho in their pedigree and also a cross of Malawis Prince. Thats because he has a DAUGHTER of Head Honcho and a daughter of Malawi in his damline.
Black Enforcer also brings in a son of Malawis Prince and a daughter of Head Honcho. This is a perfect balance for Honcho Classic. Daughters of Black Enforcer are ideal to be mated to WINDY MILLAR.
The one aspect of the pedigree of WINDY MILLAR that stands out is the fact he does NOT carry a cross of Brett Lee. The legend sprinter and world influence at stud, Brett Lee is a wonderful source of chase in pedigrees. He has done particularly well when linked with the Skipping Chick infused Spiral Nikita and the great Larkhill Jo both aspects of the damline of WINDY MILLAR.
Of course Brett Lee can be picked up in numerous ways too many to list.
The fact Honcho Classic carries a cross of Tangairn in his damline also allows a special link with his half sister Nikki Bairn. This can be picked up via Primo Uno himself or via Kilty Lad who has Primo Uno as his damsire. Windy Millars Melbourne city winner Athos is out of a Primo Uno bitch.
The fact WINDY MILLAR has outcross in his damline means he too is ideal for daughters of Surf Lorian who is rapidly becoming one of Australias greatest damsires. Surf Lorian is particularly suited to matings that provide a great outcross influence and this is exactly the damline of WINDY MILLAR.
Broodbitch owners, as we said, can be a picky lot.
But with WINDY MILLAR they have a race dog and stud dog that ticks all the right boxes. And the options to mate with him are just about endless.
