Gotta love an unqualified man such as yourself Grant tossing rubbish at a qualified professional.

Des may not have the best bedside manner, but his knowledge about anything concerning greyhounds leaves you floundering Grant.

Dont think just because someone has been to university they know it all. Working in health i have seen people cripples in later life because their doctors didnt have the knowledge or life experience to send a patient to a chiropractor or manipulator. Some drs considered chiro's which doctors who do more damage than good. Many vets of today still dismiss chiro's as charletons. These are people we entrust with our lives or our dogs lives.
I dont know dr fegan but if he thinks he knows it all im fortunate not knowing him.

Floundering...!!!...I myself would admit that AND have used an even more powerful adjective...

Michael...you must read the whole thread to know why he was 1st mentioned here...

I don't know vet science and you too for that matter but many have agreed as has many that haven't(read ALL the posts) but he writes in a public publication and should not be considered the be all and end all...as I posted..." Can someone with MORE yrs. than him but not a vet...help someone...???..." A QUESTION...

It was a question of which you can answer yes and give your thoughts OR no and give your thoughts...

My 1st sentence was that the language used was much more subdued than the article that started this thread...

And as I pointed out..." I get his point "

Ian as has been mentioned people see him as a very very good greyhound vet...you wouldn't go to a muscleman to get a bitch a C section...

I found his last paragraph interesting...could not a person who hasn't been to uni but brought up in a dog family and learned what's normal and abnormal...spend many yrs. in day to day practical hands on experience be ' a qualified person 'for certain treatments etc...just no diploma on the wall...could they Michael...???

I wonder if Des has been reading through some of the replies lately in the health section?

In my experience, if I've got a cold I'll take the necessary remedies to counteract it or go to the pharmacy & get some medicine. If I've got pneumonia, I'll go to the hospital & get treated by a doctor.

Too many trainers try & seek remedies for serious injury. The one thing a vet has over a muscleman is an x ray machine...& as the analogy above rings true for humans, so it should for your dogs.

I'm sure plenty of vets have had to treat the stuff ups of backyard "vets" more times than the opposite occurring.

He doesn't have a way with words , but I doubt you'll find many more qualified people (both paper & hands on) that have more experience than him.
