Shane,
So with your thinking, if a sire produces to a decent breeder's bitch it shouldn't be counted?
No Melissa........Shane asked --> "How many are from PAWs broodies ???? And then from champion broodies .... ???"
Fair enough Steve! So his question is a stat question alone right? not a question too induce thought that maybe Dyna Lachlan doesn't produce to "non champion or non PAW" bred bitch's?

No Melissa.
I just put results into proper context....if he produces great offspring to other damlines, then he a dog on the up ...he produced a very good litter from a non-PAW damline but she is a excellent broody
This is history repeating which people seem to ignore...I have wrong a number of times on stud dogs in the past and im more than happy to say I got it wrong...
I just want to see proven results across just not from a small sector of the broody world... I hope Belinda gets a champion or two from her litters ... She has faith in him & hope she gets the rewards :)
In the end, breeding is more about an opinion & taking an educated risk but you need to be cognisant of results of the past ...
Cheers

Good luck WESTY.....He's off to a great start and producing some large litters which is always encouraging to see for breeders. The telling sign will be if he can produce city winners to a whole range of different brood-bitches (not just the Wheeler line). IMO....Brood-bitches containing sires such as PURE OCTANE, WHERE'S PEDRO, HALLUCINATE etc will help the cause. We'll find out in 2 years time. Cheers.............Steve

I understand your point and I guess we all have our own perceptions of statistics.
I prefer too look at the achievements of champion broods ands Paw and Hallinan broods and best find a way too understand the "winning formula"..
I agree with you though that a dog needs to prove himself over all types of ladies but DL is doing a great job so far.

I suppose that depends on what the answer is Melissa.

your not a believer shane yes it helps to have some good broods but the dog still has to be able too throw the goods its not all the bitches. and as for PAW useing his top broods just shows you how much confidence he has in the dog. looking at the dogs offspring there are plenty useing other bitches with the dog not all PAW.
Do not bother trying to convince anyone belinda as I fondly remember a certain quartet slagging magic sprite as a sire (5th grader who raced nobody etc.) and none of them will ever jump up and say anything positive about stud dogs that they do not favor and you may find yourself flogging a dead horse, nor have I seen any opponents of this stud dog come out publically and say their oppinions have been proven to be incorrect. You will be flogging a dead horse with that.
Dyna Lachlan, magic sprite, velocette, high earner, el galo, cosmic rumble, dashing corsair, el grand seor, cosmic chief, lochinvar Marlow all have one thing in common the have greyhounds on the track are proven at a small level and are all yet to attain the consistency of sires such as bombastic Shiraz, Brett lee, collision, where's pedro in throwing super dogs.
No one can say they will or won't and someone will either have faith or be sceptical, some will use them and either have success, mediocrity or failure.
It seems you have elements that breed hugely successful litters, some that have limited success, and some that have absolute failures regardless of quality of bitch or stud dog.
You can choose to live by line breeding, proven crosses, proven sires, city class bitches but reality for most it's all pot luck wether you get a freak, a super producing brood bitch or a bitch that just so happens to click with a stud dog.
Sure you can put things in your favor by using a genetically blessed bitch and a super performed stud dog and by following past successes, yet one of the biggest issues at present for breeders is the degree of proven producers that are diminishing and the lack of replacements that can replicate the quality of both 500+ metre dogs that regularly upgrade the bitches.
Could it be that the breed is remodelling and reshaping and we will be waiting an undefined period to have nature present us with the next super genetically blessed producer.
Perfect time to regroup, fortify lines (outcrossing) and take a risk with new stud dogs to hopefully learn what is needed through this changing of the guard that may provide an insight or act of serendipity in creating the next big thing, as no written rules or preconceived ideas can both uncover the answer to the riddle or offer a proclaimation of who and when this may be (could be 20 years or 1 season until we have it recreated or presented)
Good luck to dyna Lachlan and any new stud dog as I'm for anyone of them standing up, I do not care who it's is!

The quartet (if you can recall Sean), were DEFENDING El Galo after you had shit bagged him.
Magic Sprite has done well, just won the big maiden. but hardly as well as (the subject) Dyna Lachlan (which coincidentally has a lot more impressive race record than Magic Sprite). Which I do believe was at the crux of the argument re unproven sires.
Either way , I hope your Magic Sprites do better than your solo El Galo purchase....otherwise you may get on here shit bagging another sire (I think Cosmic Rumble is in your sights) lol.

Glenn, factually selective again, yes I stated what I saw with el galo at the time and was man enough to admit that facts presented differently at a later stage and he had made inroads in throwing 500 meter dogs.
As for your belief in that I have cosmic rumble in my sights you once again add speculation beyond fact!
Once again good luck and best wishes to dyna Lachlan throwing some talent on the track!
