Hi i see alot post saying how good looking the hawkes pups are but the proof is in the race track performance, and for me 500mts plus is the bench mark so has he had enough good bitches and enough time to prove himself yet and if not how long do you think he needs. ive just purchased a 8mths old bitch purley because i want a cape hawke pup

Hi Murray i found the best results i got from his pups i had were to be patient and not break them in too early let them mature i rushed a lot of my early one's and didn't get a result.. Joe Borg is currently having a good run with his litter out of Jive Magic winning the first 2 race's at Bendigo this afternoon Limited Vision and Aerial Pursuit and Joe was one of the first people to use the dog this litter are rising 24 months.. Although its been a reasonably slow start its still early days and I'm sure the 500m pups will soon come..

Hi Shane,
I am a new owner trainer in Darwin. I have a bitch that has been very handy for me but is impossible to get on the track due to split webbing. She is a super kennel bitch with a good competitive nature. Im wanting to breed with her as I just love her attitude and tempermant. A good friend reckons she would be great crossed with Cape Hawk. Any chance you can offer your opinion and how much are the might be.
Regards.
P.S Her race name Turning Tables.

Robert, let me tell you why your friends suggestion is well founded. We breed CH and had/have 2 generation of broods on either side of his dam Viva Odessa, this line has always had a great temperament, no lunatics or hypo characteristics in them. With your bitch having a positive traits it is hard to see any weakening these pups. These pups would duplicate 2 proven crosses in the dam line. Also, when Viva Odessa was mater to Bombastic Shiraz the litter produced 4 city winners, 7 group race finals (2 x G1). One of the bitches, Odessa Shiraz wins included six 600m races in a row in fast time. Two other bitches in the litter were also very strong middle distance performers. I strongly suggest you google Mogambo x Odessa Shiraz and study the article written by David Brasch. Importantly bitches this litter have breed on very nicely, take a look at the offspring of Supreme Odessa and Fashion Diva.
The 2nd cross was mating of Odessa Lass x Head Honcho, this litter container Mr Odessa and Blue Paragon who broke a total of 4 track records. Finally, as I have stated many times, if you get a blue pup keep it!
