There are also numerous other progeny of Winsome Bluebird that were very good as well e.g Melandri,Cosmic Sapphire etc

One of the most important ancestors within the pedigree of SURE AS is his damsire Lansley Bale and the

fact he is a product of the famous Paul Wheeler kennel means any bitches bred by Wheeler, or with a

Wheeler-bred factor in their pedigree could be suitable.

Broodbitches by any of the current crop of Wheeler bred sires Dyna Lachlan, Bekim Bale, Turanza Bale,

Bartrim Bale, Ashom Bale etc etc could suit SURE AS. Breeders who have been able to pry the Wheeler

bloodlines from Paul, also would be well advised to look to SURE AS for their matings.

Lansley Bale is bred along identical lines to the famous broodbitch Elusive Rebel. This is a proven factor

in the pedigree of Bartrim Bale and Princess Bale, and also Peter Rocket. Thus putting bitches by Elusive

Rebels famous sons Wheres Pedro, Hallucinate or Pure Octane to SURE AS is a natural progression of

this nick.

The fact SURE AS carries a cross of Mink Mitten (Waverly Supreme-Dusty Cindy) as his fourth dam is also

ideal for him to mate bitches by Wheres Pedro, Hallucinate and Pure Octane. Spanish City, their third

dam, is a daughter of Rapid Supreme who is a litter brother to Mink Mitten.

Bringing in brothers and sisters into a pedigree can often upgrade for racetrack success.

Awesome Assassin, sire of SURE ASs second dam, is also a target ancestor. Coming in via a DAUGHTER

allows many strong balancing to be brought in. This can be achieved successfully via daughters of

champion sire Collision.

Bitches by Collision are an absolute MUST for SURE AS. They also bring in a duplication of Malawis

Prince when mated to SURE AS and this has been an extremely powerful cross throughout the country.

Awesome Assassin is also bred along identical lines to the famous producer Spark Again the dam of Elite

State. This cross has resulted in such great names as Knocka Norris, Elite Oriental and Bralyn Maisie all

Group 1 winners. Thus daughters of Elite State too should be ideal to be mated to SURE AS.

This can also be achieved by bitches that bring in crosses of Goddess Of Fire (a sister to Awesome

Assassin) and specially the fine galloper Trousers.

The third dam of SURE AS is by West Cape that most powerful of race dogs who has been a strong sire.

He is a litter brother to such great stud influences as Amerigo Man and Walkabout Sid. The pedigree of

SURE AS has only this one cross of those famous littermates.

Bitches who carry more West Cape, much more Amerigo Man, and of course Walkabout Sid, mainly via

his champion son Head Honcho, are also ideal to be mated to SURE AS. With this is mind, daughters of

the great Surf Lorian should be a specific target for mating to SURE AS. Surf Lorian is intensely in-bred

3x2 to Amerigo Man and West Cape. And many of Surf Lorians best progeny carry a double of West

Cape.

This can be achieved by putting Surf Lorian bitches to SURE AS. Dyna Lachlan too carries an important

cross of West Cape. His daughters are others that should be contemplated mating to SURE AS.

Now take a very close look at the pedigree of SURE AS what is missing?

Yes, thats right, legend race and stud dog Brett Lee.

SURE AS has NO Brett Lee in his pedigree. Which leads us to believe the most famous race and stud dog

this country has produced in the past decade or more is an absolute must for SURE AS. Brett Lee is so

dominant, and he has mated so many dominant damlines, that his offspring are crying out for a mating

to SURE AS.

Brett Lees second dam Wee Sal has a real affinity with Shining Chariot who is found in the damline of

SURE ASs sire Bombastic Shiraz. We must utilize this affinity.

Of particular interest will be daughters of Trewly Special and Magic Sprite, as well as the daughters of

the brothers Talks Cheap and Bo Frazier. They all come from the same family as Bombastic Shiraz the

sire of SURE AS.

This is the Zulu Moss and Riviera Moss family which does exceptionally well when reinforced within

itself. Elite State has strains of this family and so does Awesome Assassin.

If bitches with Brett Lee in their make-up are targets for matings with SURE AS, then so are bitches

who carry his litter brother Trendy Leigh, his half brothers Big Daddy Cool and Head Bound, and close

relations No Intent, Cry Havoc and Hotshow Sam.

SURE ASs sire Bombastic Shiraz has produced many very fast offspring when mated to bitches that

introduce a duplication of Malawis Prince. His Melbourne Cup winner Lord Ducal is bred on this theme.

This can be continued by putting bitches with lots of Malawis Prince in their pedigree to SURE AS.

Malawis Prince can be sourced via Collision, Go Wild Teddy, El Galo, Token Prince and his son Pure

Octane, Over Flo, Collide, Cosmic Rumble, Goodesy, High Earner, Knocka Norris and many, many more.

The fact Black Shiraz is the second sire of SURE AS also allows lots of room to duplicate him. Further

crosses of Black Shiraz can be found via Primo Uno, Closing Argument, El Grand Senor, Mandagery Man,

Suave Fella, Halls Northern.

Daughters of Vapour Whirl will be particularly well suited to SURE AS because he carries a cross of Black

Shirazs litter brother Big Ginger Boy.

Look closely at the half relations to SURE AS and we see that his mother Winsome Bluebird has

produced an outstanding litter when mated to History Lesson, the son of Credibility and from the

famous Osti Lee family. It would make sense to mate bitches with History Lesson in their pedigree and

also Credibility (who can be found via Just The Best). The Osti Lee line is found in Gun Law Osti and his

grandsons Wheres Pedro, Hallucinate and Pure Octane, and also Prince Of Tigers, Ostis Idol etc etc.

Of course, the great many broodbitches with outcross influences in their pedigrees in Australia today

can also look to matings to SURE AS with confidence. SURE AS has a number of outcross influences in his

pedigree via Farloe Melody and Waverly Supreme. This is also the Skipping Chick and Laurdella Fun/Im

Slippy families.

SURE AS had plenty to recommend him when he first set foot on the racetrack.

He didnt need his legend litter sister to help him establish himself on a stud career. His pedigree and

race performances did that.

Now it is up to broodbitch owners to utilize a pedigree that suits many, many lines.
