John have you checked the tonsils, had similar last year and he had to have his tonsils out they were right up, then went down with a blood disorder, so get both checked.

I presume that who ever checked your dog out listened to your concern about the near hind ?
A track leg injury should be easily identified by swelling in under hind or by tenderness to outside of elbow or swelling if check not long after run.
Was the fibia checked for injury on the leg either low down near where the vain passes over or higher up the leg behind the knee joint.
Was the hock checked ?
Slight pressure to the front of the hock while the dog is standing should show no discomfort. A great vet who is dead now showed me how by composing the hock upwards and holding the hock up with the palm of one hand and supporting downward pressure onto the hip with the other hand ( thus compressing the hock) hold this for a few seconds.
Watch when you release the leg,the dog SHOULD put the foot straight back down to the ground .
If the dog puts the leg down but hesitates to put the leg down and holds leg slightly of ground before settling it on the ground then there is usually a problem In the hock or associated area.
Do both Hocks so that you can compare the action of each.
A good check of the hip and hip support and whip muscle should have also been made.
Did anyone check for cramping of the muscles immediately after the run.
Does the dog have both testicles down and none retained or is it a Butch

I am only replying to YOUR observation after the run.

If the guy corny find a reason for the poor run take it elsewhere if it hasn't improved
Best of luck
