You may find this thread of interest Carl - CLICK HERE
Personally I am a big believer in letting mother nature take her course although simple things like changing kennels or putting her in with another bitch who is in season also seem to have some effect on occasions.

Hi Carl,

I had the same problem but our bitch just broke at the age of 3 years 3 months. She was just hitting the peak of her fitness and had reduced her racing weight by several pounds. We had been told that once she was properly fit then she would break. We had tried the bitch in season 'companion' strategy and the 'kennel with a randy dog' strategy....nothing happened. Lol!

you can have a course of injections i suppose it depends how quickly you want to breed if no rush as maureen says leave it to nature

Carl, you can try bringing her in by getting her lower back manipulated. My husband has had great success bringing bitches into season using this manipulation, even with bitches over four years of age that had never had a season. Just find a very good muscleman who can manipulate backs properly. It usually takes 3 weeks, sometimes four, for the season to start, providing this is all that is wrong with her, and the mm knows exactly what he is doing. If she comes in, give her a daily double dose of vitamin E for the whole of her season. Good luck !!

In human female athletes or anorexics when the percentage of body fat drops too low the monthly cycle stops .
I have found that with some greyhound bitches I can stop them coming in season if I keep their weight down . My marathon bitch was over 3 and had never been in season but as soon as she was off with an injury and I let her weight go up she came in season in about a month of the weight increase .

Well that is a freaky co-incidence...the bitch I was mentioning earlier was Allen Cherry and she was mated to your selection: Ballymac Eske just a few weeks ago.

What's your bitch called if you don't mind me asking?

Great news Carl and I hope she has a trouble free pregnancy which ends in a lovely litter.

She is a very nice bitch and has some great form round Sheffield.

BTW, I hope you won't mind but I have sent an error report asking that the two pedigree's (Proper Fancy and Geelo Fancy) are combined.

Had a similar bitch a few years ago and a greyhound vet here in Australia used acupuncture and within about a month she came on season and had no problems since.

What a shame Carl. I hope she doesn't keep you waiting too long. Please keep us informed.
