Hi have a dog which had a hairline fracture of left front outside metacarpal which he done 10 months ago. Have give him plenty of time to mend he is sound on straight gallops but I have tried him twice in the last 2 months but he has been lame for the next day or two.I seen a product called Zheng GU Shui advertised and was wondering if anybody has used it and what were the results thanks.

Harry, the ZGS for bones is excellent, but after 10 months, the fracture would be well and truly healed. Get a good muscleman to check him, as there may be another reason why he is limping, such as a neck/upper back problem, with possibly pinched nerves. This can cause limping after a run. Good luck.

Hi Harry,

My opinion only of course, but go to a good greyhound vet with the latest x-ray equipment and see whats going on.
Zheng Gu Shui like Bone Radial and Blister just causes a reaction which makes the blood concentrate and pass through the injury area quicker and speeds up recovery so if the injury was sustained ten months ago It should have healed by now without any application.

Dog was x rayed when it happened he had had 1 handslip and the following week I decided to give him a trial out of boxes and then put him away for 6 months he done the fastest second split at McCanns schooling track I have ever had . The fracture was something the vet had never seen the like of before it was hairline the full length of the metacarpal he put it in plaster for 5 weeks and I was told to keep dog on lead for 12 weeks. I galloped him for a further 6 weeks before trying him at the track he was lame the next day took him back to vet he said he had stressed metacarpals but were not fractured he told me to blister with bone radium for a further 8 weeks 5 days blister then 5 days off galloped again for a further 6 weeks no reaction trialled again lame next day for a couple of days have rested him again and now galloping just wanted to know if it was worth trying the zheng before I trial him again.

try Declan mc cambridge incase his back is out maybe a few hand slip from the crown of the bend so the dog is not travel as hard are as fresh into the corner. some tape around the area for a little extra supoort. try some free galloping before straight galloping allowing to gain confidence again maybe.

Agitation Harry I believe to be the best healer around, not heat treatments or ultra sounds but pure natural agitation, there for the problem I see with your dog was keeping the dog on the lead for 12 weeks, it won't heal properly, if he had been aloud to sport in a smallish paddock say about 10m x 10m then this way he could of caused agitation to the injury and yes you would of seen him hold the leg up many's a day but as he agitated it the body would of sent healing messages to that part of the body and slowly but surely it would of healed strongly, I've used this method very successfully before on the dogs and on my self ( well didn't close myself in a 10x10 paddock Lol ) would like to here other peoples view on this method
