have a young dog that never dirties in his kennel except after a run
does not seem to be able to hold his urine any idea's or advise would be appreciated

Rex sounds like your timings out not his.Many young dogs after trialling and racing and given copious amounts of fluids will let go in there kennel if not let out a few times in succession.
