With Spring (hopefully) around the corner I was recommended (by a vet) Bravecto for my hounds. It claims to kill fleas and ticks for 3 months.

Does anyone have any experience of using it on greyhounds?

Yes Kevin it the real deal complete wipe out for months no more washing etc.
20 Euro tab split in 2 does 2 adult dogs flavoured too so no problem getting dogs to take them.

Yes had a bitch come into the kennels covered in ticks give her Bravecto gone in 24 hrs. But I think if you read the leaflet it works best if given when the dog has got them not used as a preventative and as it isn't cheap I would be inclined to wait.

Good grief! I hope you gave the owner a good 'ticking off' too!

This will be my third year of using Bravecto on my dogs Give half tablet at beginning of April, and no fleas or Tics at all for a whole year.Only available from Vets in Ireland, costs around 22 euro per tablet, so that 11 euro per dog per year, brilliant .

Geoff - when you say you give "half a tablet" to each dog. What is the dose of the tablet you halve? Is it the one for 'large dogs' weighing 20 - 40kg? How come both you and Martin recommend giving only half the dose?

I purchased a few of them yesterday (20-40 KG) but as far as I'm aware it's a full tablet per dog ?

Because one tablet is the recommended dose by the company that manufactures it, BUT , I was told by a person of high regard in the Greyhound World on day1, that I could use half a table per dog, and it would work ok.....it did.

There a 4 different weights of dogs from 10 kg to 40kg quite clearly marked on the packaging.

Thanks Geoff that's a good enough recommendation. I'll get half what the vet recommended!

Below is a link to a facebook page "Does Bravecto kill dogs". Many breeds of dogs have died using this drug.

There is also a sister group called Does Nexgard kill dogs!

I have a little dog that Nexgard made very, very sick!
