Craig, going by those readings, it looks like the dog is pretty dehydrated, and has an infection as well. All those readings are much too high for a normal blood test. What electrolytes/kidney flushers, if any, are you using, as some certain ones will dehydrate. Have you had a look down the dog's throat, as tonsillitis is a pretty common infection in greys ?

Craig, the dog needs much more fluid in its daily feed, to combat the dehydration, and from all the tests we have done over the years, water diabetes is nearly always tied up with either a throat or a tonsil infection.

I checked the throat with another dog we have and believe it is different,so our next step will be to a vet to verify. I will get back to you with the results. Thank you for your time much appreciated.

Craig, not sure where you are located mate, but make sure it is a vet with greyhound knowledge. If you are not sure who to go to, just post your location and I am sure the great people on here will point you in the right direction.
Cheers.

Hi Craig,
John Murray (legend) is retired but will still see your dog. 32064927 - Redlands.
Greg Sternberg - Laidley - 0437632260.
Jerry King - Darra - 33765633.
Larry Jocobsen - Toowoomba - 0746308399.
Good luck.
Carole is right, infection and dehydration. There maybe other indicators in the test that can lead to the problem. John Murray may be able to decipher it for you.

Hi Craig, you would have had a vet do the blood test, the results would have come back with comments from the person who analysed the blood and your vet should investigate further. You should be working with your vet to fix the problem. Cheers

Hi Paul Good point, the vet told me it was dehydration but the dog has not been in work for long and has drop away slightly, so i am looking for other opinions just to make sure i'm on the right track to fixing any problems with the dog.
Thanks

Craig, just make sure you don't work him too hard, seeing he hasn't been in work long. Also make sure you put enough fluid IN his meals, to keep his hydration up, as this is extremely important. If he does have tonsillitis, which is likely, your vet will give him a course of antibiotics, so don't work him while he is on the course, as he is under stress, and his body needs that time off to recover. If you feel like putting his total daily diet up on here, we might be able to help you a bit more. You won't be able to tell what his actual blood readings really are, as until the dehydration and infection are cleared up, the high readings are not a true indication. You may even find that he needs haematinics to build his blood up to normal. Keep us informed anyway if you will.
Hi Carole vet has confirmed tonsillitis and has taken them out. i will let you know with his progress. Their diet is Beef and advanced active kibble 400mls water, additives are Black Tar and Calcium Plus on weekends they get a vegetable stew plus beef.I split their meals equal morning and night.
thanks everyone, for your advice
