I'm struggling to figure out/find info on ALT and AST levels in greyhounds, are they different to those of other dogs? I done a quick search of the forum and have seen a few topics that say the acceptable range is 5-80 in which case is a result of 140 a concern?

He is a 9 year old ex racer and had a dental today as he had some loose teeth. We done these bloods before hand. He takes 200mg l-theanine daily, I doubt this could cause such a reading but just in case I thought I'd mention it.

His blood chemistry was as follows;

Creatinine - 158
Urea - 2.9
BUN: Creatinine Ratio - 4
ALT - 140
AST - 80
ALP - 101

Our vet has indicated ALT and AST as high and something to be monitored, whilst they are usually greyhound savvy I would like a second opinion.

Many thanks for any information.
