Reckon you're right Con.
But its far to say that unlike the house fly these biting stable flies are only a recent arrival in my yard.
And I still think they can be eradicated.

The dogs have to lay inside there fly screen kennels. Soon as I let them out they become covered in flies. There's nothing smelly or dirty around and I've tried spraying the area and dogs with repellent ...... Please help!!!!!!!

Is that the yellow container that you fill with water and the sachet?

THANKS ALOT

Funny how versatile vinegar in its different variations can be. Like I always say many times old timer remedies prove superior than the "latest" technology. These old fellas knew there stuff. that's another 1 to add to my old timer remedy folder. thanx !

I have a air curtain above the door BUT they must get a good run up as they get inside the kennels. And I have 2 sticky hangers inside that do a good job as well.

Something I've heard/been told by an old timer is to take a gallon sized ziplock bag fill it with about an inch of water and hang it from the ceiling in front of any door/window entrance that flies might enter.

I have no idea WHY it works, but, it does - my guess would be the light refracting from the water in the bag freaks the little fk'ers out and they just stay away.
