Micael as a trainer would be a good competitor, one we would all like to be in a race with. Yes keep advocating feeding no meat.
His record says it all

Megan you are closer to the mark than most. 1% of bodyweight in Carbohydrate - Bread Rice Oat Vegetables 20mil Omega 3 6 & 9 Oil Morning and Night Double the dose Morning Prior to race that night Morning of event if night meeting 40mil 4hrs prior to race time not kennel time 500g Meat for Dog 400g for bitch is the guide Larger Dog extra 50g meaT Meat can be Beef Chicken Roo Horse (Brumby no drugs) or in combinations. You can add chopped vegs to the bread rice etc Silver beet, Celery, Parsley, Carrot etc Egg whites (Albumim is high form of muscle protein) Ideal for after race recovery) Egg yolk is high percent fat so you can use instead of the Oil at times (Edited by Admin)

Steve to keep the percentages some where near rounded and to be taken as example only
These are approximated to add up to around 1kg feed
30kg Dog 500g Meat (50%) Carbohydrate 300g (30%)Half morning half night Fat 40g (2.5%) Oil Water 200mil (20%)

Coprice has a Cattle Dog on the Bag 26%? Protein - Fed with meat Diet is too high in Protein Winning Edge Kibble is 12% Protein In my opinion is a good one for Greyhounds A principle I stick to If it doesn't have a Greyhound on the bag It wasn't formulated for Greyhounds Unlike Cattle/Sheepdogs the Greyhound Athlete is expected to perform at a high level for 30 seconds (Sprint like Matt Shirvington) NOT Sprint Jog Lie down over 2 hours - Cattle dog (Endurance/Marathon Steve Monaghetti) This is the best way I can describe it for the Greyhound Trainer Protein is never ever burnt as energy for Greyhounds whilst Carb and Fat are supplied in the correct proportions

High up in the tropics here, we need a high fat diet. Those trainers here who feed high fat meat pay $6.50kg, I pay $2.85kg for Buff meat, make up the fat content with dry food.
Morning - a 4x2 biscuit.
Evening - Dry Food... 66% Black Hawk Grain Free (28% Protein 18% fat) plus 33% Royal Canin E4800 (32% protein 30% fat)... 1.5 to 2 cups total per dog/bitch. Buffalo mince (10% protein)... 300-400gms per dog/bitch. Level teaspoon DCP and Livamol Night b4 a race Fast K. Post race I add a teaspoon electrolyte powder.
