There is a hormone injection which will bring your bitch into season, done under the guidance of a Veterinarian it is perfectly safe.

Cabergoline is a hormone to induce estrous in a bitch. It can be done by giving in tablet form. There is also liquid but not as effective as Cabergoline. There are other names for this product such as Galastop, Cabasar, Dostinex. 5mg is given daily from one to 20 days or until 2 days after the onset of proestrus. Another method is using Gonadotropin releasing hormone, but the success rate is not as high as using Cabergoline.

Paul suggest you get your vets advice.

Hi Carole

I spoke to my Vet today..and he told me of 3 methods...But he point out the success rate is about 30%..One is surgical to manipulate the ovaries...one is Galastop like you advised and the other is that possibly if her thyroid was causing problems this would also cause it...

Is it the Follom bitch Paul? Well bred, she was a very handy pick up for ya. I never understood how it worked but the back manipulation seems to work
The Follom man would have let her have her first season

Hi Keiran...yep it is the Follom bitch alright...The Follom man did not let her have her first season he told me last night he suppressed her..Which is a shame as she qualified in 29.57 at Lifford but after been suppressed never seemed to do the clock after that...

That's a great turn around, it sounded like you'd given up on her ever coming in season. Good luck with the mating.

Jason, you can get a very good muscleman to manipulate her lower back for you. Very often, if she has a spinal mis-alignment in this area, it can stop a bitch from cycling, or cause a problem like your bitch had last year. If this is her only problem, and the muscleman knows exactly what he is doing, the bitch usually comes in season with 3 weeks, sometimes four. It won't take long to find out if this procedure is successful, so if you decide to have it done, good luck.

Paul, that is a smashing cross

Butts Mott was the top early paced bitch in the UK last year and there were several other very fast dogs in that Archaton Pine litter.

For a dog with so few litters of racing age, he is certainly showing up very well.

With a bit of luck she should go in pup and after that, anything can happen!
