Fernando Bale will struggle to win the Melbourne cup, Kayda Shae is getting lengths closer every run. next time he will be beating Fernando.

Big call Matt.
He trialled 29.47 the other night.
Taking nothing away from Kayda Shae, who is top class in his own right, if he ran that time he beats Kayda Shae by an additional one and a quarter lengths
The other factor is that Fernando Bale seems to rally when another dog gets close to him. He isn't the easiest dog to get past.

winning all group races, and just about everything he goes in, has to get tired, that's only way they will get close to the champ

I'd really like to know at what age did PAW know that this dog was special? Did he show signs as a pup that he was above the pack or did he just keep on improving after break in and every outing or did they know from an early age that this dog was special.

I remember quite a while ago, possibly after Fernando Bale won the Golden Easter Egg, they were interviewing Brendan Wheeler on the radio and if I remember correctly he said Fernando Bale and Dyna Double One broke in in the same group and that Fernando Bale wouldn't have seen which way Dyna Double One went, could have been the other way around but I'm pretty sure that's what he said

Yeah noticed that myself James, think he's the most improved champion of all time from his first few starts!!! I reckon if you made the right offer back then, after his first start, you could have got him for a good price! But who was to know they could get him to go 20 lenghts faster in a couple of months time. How do you get a dog to do that? I know they go quicker after a few runs, or maybe maturing a bit, but 20 lenghts faster? Dont know how they did that, but the trainer surely must now be written down as the greatest trainer of all time, get a dog to improve 20 lengths in 2 months, and turn it into the One and Only, Super Great, Fernando Bale, our first million dollar dog!!

He is a freak so improvement was a matter of time.I remember my Brett lee pup trialled 24.30 first look at Bendigo than came out and ran 23.60 so they do improve but you cant rely on it.

He is a freak James but would love to know if anyone saw that in him and if so at what age. Maybe he just surprised them as each run.
