A new trainer who just bred his first litter of pups and broke them in, they broke in very well too, sent them to Wilshire Park for some box work and has received a phone call from GRNSW to say that because they were sitting in the kennels when the property was raided they are now barred from racing for life. They told him don't name them, don't sell them, don't do anything with them. Apparently any greyhound on the property at the time is barred for life. This trainer is devastated he has just put in almost 2 years with these dogs and what is he going to do with his 6 pups who were just about ready to race? Is this fair or is GRNSW punishing innocent parties?

That is absurd.
If they were my pups I would be speaking to the best lawyer in the country immediately.
Can they move them interstate?

I agree. Crazy things at the moment.

It's funny they have let a lot of things go for years. Now they act on impulse.

Many innocent owners and dogs are suffering.

BLOODY DISGRACE Great way to get owners to leave our sport.

it's hard to think GRNSW would do this maybe the person who owns these pups should sit down and make a few enquiries I see where there is meetings which are going to be held with the interim CEO why don't they just approach the guy and have a chat.....It is no good blaming everyone in the Industry for what has happened especially the innocent owners that wouldn't have a clue what goes on at these education centres ...what they may think they are going to get on most occasions don't happen

Guess you think ROFLMAO kennels gave you the protection on the lips James. Be careful of the re flux factor. And there could be re flux for GRNSW, but have we got all the details of the story so far?? Seems rather harsh, but what does GRNSW know that we have not been told, if the opening comment is correct??

Perhaps your right Hellen the full story not out yet but if owner not found on property than dogs should be also treated as victims..

All the owner can go off at the moment is what GRNSW rang and told him yesterday afternoon and that was the opening comment. When he picked his dogs up he was told they scanned and took the ear brands of all dogs on the property and his were in the kennels. He is waiting till Monday to seek advice. No owner was definitely not there at the time.

Surely these 6 pups (& cases alike) will be aloud to re-enter the sport say after a 28 day stand down penalty or similar.

It's obviously a "Knee-Jerk" reaction from the authorities.

This decision must be reversed in the name of commonsense.

WE SHOULD NOT ALL BE TARNISHED WITH THE SAME BRUSH.

Something I haven't seen published in the papers.

Yes....It's a disgraceful decision imo & UNFAIR.

If its FACT, I 100% agree with your sentiments Steve.

This is a top priority for the interim CEO to give clarity on.

Best of luck Katie, please keep us updated
