Is the IGB having a laugh ? No nomination for the Puppy Derby winner & Tralee track record holder? Yet they see fit to nominate a dog that tests positive in puppy derby final and wins nothing.

Who are the selectors and how did they come to this decision ?

ABSOULUTLY RIDICULOUS / SHAME ON YOU !!!

Regards
Davy

Davey if you send an email to Michael Fortune from Talking Dung he might be able to answer you query .I thought Vimmerby would have got a mention for going through the Laurels unbeaten and winning the Final and without the aid of prohibited substances great achievement but that never seems to come into their equation when selecting for an award.

It's absolutely disgraceful what's going on. Shame on you I.G.B. Cop on.. There are other people out there who enjoy the sport and are honest people, are they not entitled to a fair deal.. I alway's loved having a greyhound good or useless, alway's loved going to the dog's but if thing's don't change in the very near future it will be a thing of the past for me unfortunately. I also bring 2 3 or 4 friends with me most night's so we will have to look elsewhere for a night out.. Cop on..

Well said Liam, the igb need to remember that greyhound racing is all about the public and the owners there the most important part of the industry along with the dogs.

the real problem is that if they uncover and put the cheats out of the sport it will collapse and IMO sadly thats the truth.

wayne, and we all no know that's bullshit. How they can nominate a dog that tested positive in a major grade 1 final is rubbing salt into very deep wounds.

What they have done is openly except that performance enhancement is acceptable and that if your in the elite bracket your above the law.

wayne im entitled to my opinion and my opinion is stated on fact so i would take the rose tinted glasses of and see the real picture. It is rife in this game and the only way to stop it is to ban the cheats for a period of years instead of a poxy fine which can be paid with chump change in comparison to what they earn of of there owners.

the cover ups are mounting up and all the people that run dogs drug/enhancement free are getting the raw deal.

Read what i said Anthony, i was NOT referring to my own opinion what i said is "certain people" (some of them post on here) are of the opinion that there isnt a problem here in Ireland with drugs in greyhound racing.

I race week in week out here in Ireland and i frequently find myself the victim of "time finders" like many other people and were all just fcucking sick of it.

The use of banned substances is the single biggest contributor to the demise of greyhound racing in my opinion, people are just sick to death of wasting money on dogs half of us are going to the track and we know its a waste of time bothering.

Hi All

The ongoing drug issues has to be dealt with we all know that ! my grievance is the ignorance that they (Board) think the greyhound community will just turn a blind eye to their decisions and that was proven by nominating a dog that tested positive in a group 1 final FOR A DOG OF THE YEAR AWARD.

Anthony , You misunderstood Wayne's post, he is referring to certain posters who are in denial that drugs exist in the sport , he is well aware of the use of prohibited substances and I am quite sure he could name the cheats for you very quick, once a cheat always a cheat,IMO

Yes Dave, you hit the nail on the head.

I would like to explain one thing and that is if the track stewards and the ground staff and indeed most TMs were allowed to do there jobs they WOULD clean up the sport within one month. The protection of these cheats comes directly from the top, the stewards are operating with there hands tied behind there backs the problem in greyhound racing here in Ireland is not at the ground level it is and has always been right at the top.

if there is a question mark over this dog the irish greyhound board should not have put his name forward as it is making a laugh of the awards.
