There has been a huge response to this year's Derby. Over 48 entries have been received already. Paddy is looking into extending the number of entries but this may not be practical.
with his sire - surely you are not getting a explosive from traps short course sprinter - hope of course you get a real fast dog, but a 2 bend sprinter??? Well, genetics is hard to predict sometimes, but I wonder... Know Carolyn Jones and her dog well, so just find it hard to believe he would be suited to an Irish sprint

Good luck Thomas hope you make it in. Apparently Longford requested to extend it to a 66 dog stake and Igb for some reason refused

Ridiculous ruling Imo how many stakes in last cple months havnt filled or been put bck a week in hope of filling and when they get over subscribed they don't accommodate igb need catch themselves on if it was at Shelbourne Pk they'd accommodate every1

No "big" trainers in it really. That's unusual, unless none of them have any A1 dogs or bitches

I Dunno about that John , Ginger Mcgee and Francie Murray even Olly Bray have dogs entered ....they may not have the numbers but as good as any "big trainer" imo , probably missed some others that i didn't mention

All big on their day, but when you consider some of the talent running around spk these days by other trainers for graded race prize money I find it unusual that they don't have runners for the prize money on offer here.

Yeah i see where you're coming from ....Then again there was 20 odd dogs not make the cut so who knows ? But highly unlikely any of them where trained by the likes of Holland or Hennessy

Lads, if you look at the reserves - two are Paul Hennessy trained. Looking forward to it, should be a great stake as usual and attract good crowds.
