WOW that is totally out of left field.

I had thought the industry was over the royal commission and moving forward.

I still find it hard to believe with the number of people involved and the TAB contracts. Surely damages/payouts would be huge.

This is a farking joke, done a deal with greens to hold power guaranteed.

All states will follow suit now and then the horses must also close

What I really hate is that he can't even get his facts right

If you haven't noticed it is a Coalition government - nothing to do with any deal with the Greens. The same political colour as the one that most of you probably just voted for.

At this stage I suspect this is another story broken to / by the media, without the facts fully known / revealed.

As far as I would understand it, it isn't "passed" yet ... If so, there's a lot of water to flow under the bridge yet ....

How about we GALVANISE and UNITE, and FIGHT?

So where has the State Authority (or Authorities) been until now in contesting and correcting the BULLS^^^ numbers bandied around?

Where have our so-called "representative" Bodies been? Farking patting each other on the backs!

It's time to FIGHT!!!! Maybe it could be "now or never" .... is that serious enough?

This decision has been announced by the current conservative government based on 1000 people directly employed in the industry and 6000 licences in nsw therefore 7000 votes will not unseat the govt or in their eyes any govt minister a petition taken in nsw only either in each conservative govt ministers electorate or across the state I suspect could easily receive 300,000 signatures and could demonstrate the conservative govt could loose power on this issue and the labour opposition would quickly jump on board to support the industry and guarantee any legalisation would be reversed.
Naturally the industry should raise a fighting fund and employ a research/ media / PR organisation to discredit the inquiry outcomes and the furphies about the industry the inquiry has created.
In raising the funds we should contribute nationally as if NSW falls the other states will eventually follow.
The spokesperson ideally could be the x premier of Vict/ minister of racing / Vet & greyhound owner and Labour man.

But watch out on facebook people will actually go you for trying to point out the fact that if greyhounds are to close then the other 2 codes should be closed as well...
I asked a guy so a dogs life is different to a horses life that ends the same way...

The time has come for every trainer/owner and employee of the greyhound industry to join one Union. The Australian workers Union. They have over 100,000 members and if the greyhound fraternity could add another 30 thousand members we would have more voice and leverage. This must be done in every state not just NSW

NSW Government to shut down greyhound industry
By Quinn Jones - WWOS

The "illegal and unconscionable" greyhound racing industry in NSW will be shut down by the state government after the handing down of a parliamentary inquiry today.

Premier Mike Baird announced the decision following the conclusion of a Special Commission of Inquiry.

"In response to the widespread illegal and unconscionable activity," Baird wrote on Facebook.

"Including the slaughtering of tens of thousands of dogs.

"I can today announce that NSW is putting an end to greyhound racing."

The Inquiry found that a shocking number of acts of animal cruelty, including the killing of 68, 000 dogs, had occurred over the past 12 years and Greyhound Racing NSW "had adopted a policy of deliberately misreporting the extent" of the barbarism.

Apparently Mr Baird doesn't believe in facts either ...

"Mr Baird said the state would be following many jurisdictions across the United States and the world which have banned greyhound racing to protect animal welfare."

Ummm, which ones were they again Mr Baird? Please, DO TELL?!

I was wondering when someone would post about the RSPCA.

They have an ATROCIOUS record when it comes to destroying fit, healthy animals.

So to follow Mr Baird and his Government's thinking, it sure looks like a ban on ALL PET OWNERSHIP must be coming next for the good folks in NSW, eh? Not to mention they should prosecute and lock up a couple of hundred RSPCA workers too, no doubt.

M O R O N S !!!!!
