If Greg Barns takes on this case will he act on
our behalf as a group or as individuals?
Read the first post on this carefully. I interpret it
that he will need to file cases individually depending
on each person's situation. I may be wrong.
It would be more beneficial if only one or two representatives
approach Greg on behalf of all of us otherwise he will
be bombarded by calls which he will not be able to handle.

To have the right impact he will need to take on this case
as "group" action rather than trying to fight thousands of
individual cases. Just my thoughts.

it will be a class action tony, but only needs a person (trainer ) to submit such action, also the economic loss will be huge across the board, think what each person or persons stand to lose, thats why baird said there will be no individual compensation,he has been told what the implications may be,but he can,t weasel his way out of it ,but you guys have to act now

I hope that is the case John.
We need a spokesperson to approach Greg Barns.
I'm sure he is already aware of the case but how will
the 37,000 people, that signed the petition that was presented
in parliament, be able to forward the information to him
on how the closure of the industry will affect them and
their families, future, etc?

37,000 is only the numbers on a petition, not the numbers facing economic loss,it will be, closer to a few thousand, but that is enough,as a retired justice,i know how the system works, they will acess the application based on the information given, thats where greg barns expertise comes into play if i lived up there i would be fighting this for all you blokes, but idon,t so i can only ,offer verbal support, and some money if needed

Maybe we should pay to fly him up here to meet with the participants.

One question I have and have remained silent on because "The steering committee" or "movers and shakers of the industry" are supposed to have a handle on things?

So far nothing has happened! Nothing has been challenged, and from the mouth of a solicitor 3 weeks ago that went to the "meeting he walked away thinking it's going to close because he knew the guy that was hired and he thought there were better choices.

I have said it before.

1st cause for challenge is a breach of human rights.

2nd cause for challenge is under daicrimination

3rd cause of challenge is flawed information, fraud, collusion, abuse of power, misspending public funds (governments are accountable for public funds and how they are spent)

4th item to be put to the courts is a class action for damages?

$240000 into the fund last I heard and what's been done F'ALL!

Ok I have spoken to Mr.Greg Barns and Charlie Wilson.First and foremost, I have been told to tell EVERYONE, stop contacting Greg Barns.Anyone who is interested in talking to Charlie his moblie number is 0400206908.Charlie is the one who will liaise with Mr.Barnes, not me, you or anyone else at the moment, he is extremely busy, and cant take calls at the moment. Charlie can be contacted after 11.30am today, as he is a little busy as well, but told me he is more than willing to take anyones calls after 11.30am, but I repeat no more contact with Greg Barns atm.
Had a good talk with Charlie, anyone that wants to join forces with us is more than welcome! Charlie is a good bloke and willing to help us in anyway! When I say us, that includes the Two biggest breeders in NSW/Australia who have spoken with him as well.
Im busy at work at the moment, but will be talking with Charlie again this afternoon.Charlie will be posting something on facebook again soon when he gets time, and hopefully someone can transfer it on to here.
Charlie Wilson-0400206908 .I repeat no more phone calls to the Barrister at this point in time! Charlie is the man to talk to.I will liaise with him when needed and keep everyone up to date.More on this when I get home tonight.

Shane,

Everyone appreciates what you are doing on behalf of the industry.
One thing you don't want to do is make it an "Us" and "Them" scenario within our own ranks.
Maybe you should call Brenton Scott and suggest to him that maybe a meeting between his legal people and Greg Barns will be beneficial to the cause.

Yes your right Tony! Im just sick of all the talk, and no action from them. That would be a good idea, thought that myself.Charlie did tell me today Greg Barns will be organising a legal team up our way to help run the battle, when this gets organized, but im sure from memory he wants to hand pick the right team. It could well be the legal team we have at the moment. Im not sure, we will find out shortly.Greg is going away for 4 days next week, then straight back to work, ill find out more when I talk with Charlie!

I just spoke to Charlie again.Im still busy organising work tommorow, ill explain more later when I have time.Apparently hes been copping flack from some people via facebook, being accused of trying to rip people off.WTF, this bloke is going out of his way to help us, after talking to him id say hes as passionate as myself, trying to get a win for us.He has been busy with the lawyers organising deatails.
There will be a trust fund set up by tommorow, so anyone that thinks hes trying to rip us off, lay off and wake up to yourselves, thats why its called a trust fund.
He will have the complete plan from the legal team in under 2 weeks!! Not 6 months down the track.
Anyone saying we are going to undermine the Alliance Legal team, well whats wrong with doubling up on Lawyer's for a quicker result. What I do know is after talking to him, he is totally driven, and ready to kick and scream so we can get a fast result, not just sit back.
He has posted details on facebook, could someone find it and post it on here, as quickly as possible. Remember this bloke has taken on a Government himself, and won, he knows his stuff.People from the media have already spoke with him, and the sooner we get behind him, instead of laying sh't on him, the better. This bloke is as fired up as they come, not scared of anyone, and ready to tackle the situation head on, so lets get behind him, support him, so he can get the job done for us.

A post from Charlie

Hi guys
I have got a legal team sorted with Greg Barns as the QC Barrister and CDM Lawyers in Sydney, the solicitor being Craig Murray. I cannot reiterate enough do not contact these people, as I will liaise directly with them on behalf of everyone who has contributed in fighting this battle.
I need $20,000 between the industry to be donated to CDM Lawyers to get a written and guided instruction on the representation of the New South Wales Greyhound Industry. You will be represented under ONE BANNER as a united front from the little bloke out the back to the biggest bloke out there.
I'm not mucking around now. I have all my details and you are either IN or OUT. You cannot go chasing the chosen barrister - Greg Barns - if I get a win for you all, as he is representing the banner to which I am representing on behalf of everyone.
I will have the full written brief and advice in 2 weeks max after I can rally the funds.
This is serious I don't muck around either do these blokes like I said your either in or out if you can only afford $5 to $5000 it does not matter as long as you contribute, my legal team will represent your RIGHTS!!
