Liam has the deal gone through for Harold's cross in other words have they received any money... I think no...so in other words the debt is still their and yet they have increased prize money and spent a half a million on a machine that in my opinion is only their to catch the small man...the situation we are in now is a little different to what we were in 6 months ago we have 100% proof a class A drug has been used and a blind eye turned to it who has challenged the board on this no one I can remember not so long ago a waterford trainer had his licence taken and a life time ban for a drug I would consider not on the same ricer scale as cocaine why one rule for one another for another...and to say already done to everything isnt good enough are we all ready to throw the towel in because if thats our attitude we all may get out of the game and if we are all ready to leave the sport and say the game is finished well we may as well take the board with us and close all tracks not just one all of them see what response the board have to that... What have any of us got to lose...

Brian , closing all track through strike action will hit the doggie man hardest. Do you think that Meaney & Co will loose any wages or sleep over Longford or Clonmel being closed by strike or picket if you wish. I'll answer that question for you ,,, NO,, that's the answer. If strike or picket is going to be the tool of choice . Then use it wisely. Picket the points that the IGB would least like you to . So target SP again, as this is the track that creates income for the IGB and is most likely to be noticed by the politicians , most of whom can't see outside Dublin. Also target Tralee and Cork ,both SIS tracks making income for the IGB and the IGB have contracts with the bookmakers who would undoubtedly put pressure on the IGB if there was disruption to betting shop races.Do not enter dogs in the Thurles sales and even picket them as well. Loss of income to this track will cause directors and shareholders to question the IGB influence at the track.Enter your sales dogs at the other sales tracks. My personal opinion is that it's too late .The Titanic has struck the iceberg , it's sinking and sinking fast. The lifeboats have been lowered and the occupants of the first lifeboat ( Meaney & Co) will all see land again when they get cushy numbers from the cronies united syndicate once the ship has sunk. The rest of the passengers , most of which have been travelling in stowage for a long time, will sink with the ship and no one in a lifeboat will give a shit. So if you want to be effective. Put a big hole in the lifeboat and make these bastards swim in the ice cold water with stowage passengers.

It's now over a year since Cross was closed and it has been lying idle. The monies spoken about for the sale in question would imply good business. However surely some portion should have been handed over. Has there been a deposit and when will site be paid for ?

DGOBA fought a great campaign so save their track I hope the wool hasn't been pulled over their eyes, indeed all our eyes. Let's hope this offer is not another DTS. Surely the Board should know when the funds will be paid and it would be good if they could give us all some indication.

Do DGOBA still feel confident ?

Apologies but there are rumours starting to circulate that all may not be well. Are Board still confident ?

its not unusual for it to take this long ,its e23mill not e23 .lots of contracts have to be drawn up due dilligence and other things have to be established etc etc .

Taken from Talking Dogs
MASTER PLAN

The forthcoming investment plan from the IGB will require Government approval before any surplus from Harolds Cross can be used and the semi-state will have to adhere to a strict public spending code and capital investment appraisal process.

At last! The Department of Agriculture have noticed serious flaws in public spending by this Semi State Body and do not want to witness another Wreckless spending mission. A step in the right Direction at last.

Rumour is that owners have seriously cut back on breeding since the track closures plan was announced

It was suggested at a meeting in Thurles that 150,000 Euro Yearly might keep a feeder track racing at one meeting a week.At one time this would have been considered peanuts in the scheme of things.

Towcester in the Uk is re opening, possibly Oxford and Belle Vue are racing on at the moment. Where will they get runners from going forward.

Is there a plan.Owners need to know.
