Hi Fellow Data Members, recently I exchanged emails with one of the LNP's best mates Peter V'landys & no surprise he came up with some golden bulldust regarding our industry & the email containing the bulldust is pasted below for all to see.
P.S For the record I didn't blame the ponies (thoroughbred industry) for our industry's predicament but "my mate Peter" seems to be paranoid LMAO.
Hi Branko
Thank you for your email. Appreciate the passion you have in your industry. Unfortunately your conclusions have been reached with very wrong information.
Firstly the Intercode is a very complex agreement which took nearly 18 months to negotiate. Off course TAB turnover is just one component of many considerations Your current spokesman Brenton Scott was one of the negotiators on the Intercode for the Greyhound industry and was happy to sign off on it.
For the record NSW Greyhounds TAB turnover makes up 5.23% of the total TAB turnover. The vast majority of TAB turnover comes from bets placed on Interstate meetings. Further Racing NSW only receives approximately $170 million in TAB distribution.
Also with no involvement whatsoever from the management of the NSW Greyhound management Racing NSW through its initiatives such as Racefields legislation Trackside legislation and Tax parity has been able to gain an additional $20 million per year for the NSW greyhound industry. Unfortunately your industry has been let down by poor management and not the intercode or the NSW thoroughbred racing industry. Hope you can take an objective look at the above and realise our position.
Regards Peter
Yours Sincerely,
Peter V'landys Chief Executive Officer Racing NSW Level 7, 51 Druitt Street, Sydney NSW 2000 Phone: 02 9551 7555 Fax: 02 9551 7570 Website EXTERNAL LINK

Hi Tony,
I'd love to post the email I sent to Peter but it's so nicely worded (without foul language) & some of the references made in it would be deemed unacceptable by the Forum Admin & would be deleted instantly.

Branko, did you ask V'Landys how he and other thoroughbred industry participants , Why and how they knew of the impending ban before the announcement and the corrupt election took place. I'd love to know he's explanation.

The single important part of that reply is where he admits we have been let down by poor management. This admits our present position financially is not where it should be & therefore needs to be brought up & compensation made for past years. We need GRNSW commercial board management structure now to ensure we have a proper input into decisions made for our future & the Alliance should be pushing for that immediately.

Who cares what he says.
Our industry sponsors the gallops & trots with millions of $$$ we should ask for advertising rights at the winning post.
Delusions of grandeur from a bloke who is not even liked by his own participants & only one step away from being knifed in the back himself by the board.

when MR. VLANDY says Brenton scott was one of the negotiators who signed the ICA he is right but what he forgot to mention is That MR VLANDY actually walked out [so much for negotiating] on the first meeting and refused to agree to terms that were on that particular agreement, Also he forgot to mention that the greyhound unqualified representatives were told at the time By the Minister to JUST GO IN AND SIGN,so trying to tell us that everything was being done above board is nothing but pure unaldarated bullshit.

Bill, in your above post you have singled out THE one element that has been responsible for All of the industry's problems.
"the greyhound unqualified representatives"
It is the one component of the industry that has been responsible for bad decisions and good decisions not made. Although I'm sure unintentional, the people of power within the industry have not had the experience nor foresight to make the decisions that count. It's all been a bowl of spaghetti. It is the INDUSTRY, not the Govt, regulators, or the associations that need representatives that are completely professional, ruthless, competent, and creative to legally pave the way for the industry to prosper. Until there is a 'Board of Industry Rights and Integrity' this industry will continue in free fall and failure.
I'm hesitant to go further because of the real danger of being castrated. Who knows, if I get drunk enough one night I might start on an essay.

If that is the case Bill, the agreement is finished.
