Reading elsewhere, Jason, apparently the trainers weren't happy about the state of the track.

The stewards reported....

"Following the running of race 5, it was apparent that the racing surface had become shifty and
spongy in certain sections of the track. Following an inspection, attempts were made to
consolidate the surface and restore condition of the track to an acceptable level for racing to
continue. When greyhounds and handlers arrived at the starting boxes for race 6, a further
inspection revealed that restoration attempts proved ineffective and the track condition remained
the same in a deteriorating state. Stewards then made a determination at 9:45pm to abandon the
remainder of the meeting from race 6 onwards, with a ballot drawn to determine which runners
from heats 5, 6 and 7 of the LADBROKES.COM.AU 4/5th GRADE SERIES would advance in the series.
The selected greyhounds from the ballot were FAWN EXPRESS (race 6 heat 5), MADE TO SHINE
(race 7 heat 6), and MILKY JONES (race 8 heat 7)."

What occurred last night was very disappointing for all concerned. The track was very soft in places and there is no excuse for that!

The track has been in a poor condition for a long time like running on wet cement and these problems have been despite having a track staff overseer wtf.

GRNSW, GBOTA, the state government and the alliance group have a lot to answer for.
The equation is pretty simple really,
Less dogs = less tracks = less participants = less negative votes for the government = CLOSURE OF RACING IN NSW.

This meeting was held over due to lack of noms, then they couldn't even get the track right bloody disgraceful

Another self inflicted debacle by the learned experts at GRNSW.
They destroyed the Gosford racing surface ,overseen a record number of meeting abandoned - too hot - too wet - race surfaces poorly prepared now the premier track can't complete a meeting. And they wonder why confidence is plummeting.
Where is the evidence any of the inferference/new policies have lead to a more robust industry? There isn't any. The Industry is a nanny state run by administration hiding behind the facade that goes by the name of "animal welfare" enbolding them to make and implement any thought bubble that comes into their head. Fact is GRNSW is run by those of limited skills masquerading as the purveyors of all wisdom.

Why is it that the other tracks don't have a problem and the usual tracks do ? They're all under the same governance (GRNSW) but are prepared by different track curators ? You previously said it was a mosh pit at Wenty Park and you work there. What are they doing wrong ?

I'm sure Malcolm can enlighten us but I have seen them water the track for up to 1.5 hours before the first regardless of weather .

Well Done to all the trainers for standing firm about this decision.
People want things to change, then united is the only way to achieve change of some of these bad decisions.

There is a suggestion that they harrowed the track on Thursday. If so, hello !

They did harrow the track on Thursday. The complaint was if you got to the rail and led you won. There was a huge advantage to front runners and inside boxes.
